Jack Banner
Hi, my brother has this kit (see pics below) but there are no instructions or details at all with it, it is just in plastic bags. He likes the look of it and would like to get it built. It appears to be designed for a brushed can motor and has a glass fuse with foam core wings. Does anyone recognize it? We are ideally hoping for a manual but would settle for a name and CofG details! Many thanks for looking
john stones 1 - Moderator
No idea Jack it looks a nice fun model though and should go a bit, I would fit a brushless motor in it myself. John
Jack Banner
I agree John, a modern brushless in-runner is defo the way to go. Just hoping we can find out what it was originally designed for really. I don't fancy our chances of getting too much info but this forum has surprised me before! Martin Harris - Moderator
In the absence of any more info, I'd set the C of G half way between the front of the servo box and the leading edge - then try the dive test!
Jack Banner
HAHA! Not the dreaded dive test
kevin b
If it's in a brown box, all nicely packed and no information at all, then it is likely to have come from HobbyKing. Ask me how I know ! (I have 2 similar) Have a look through their site and see if anything matches. Then you can look on the net for build blogs.
Philip Ogden
Looks similar to a Graupner Speed Cat **LINK**
Jack Banner
yes it is similar to the speed cat but is definately electric only I will have a trawl through Hobbyking on the off chance but I am pretty sure the model is at least 5 years old so don't hold out much chance that it is still available. Might be an adventure to guess teh CofG
