Dave Wilshere
Not sure where to post, but sad news that Terry Westrop was killed on Sunday while riding his motorbike. Well known in the aerobatic circles and famous for the Loaded Dice range, thoughts must be with his family and flying friends Dave Wilshere
Martyn K
I was notified on Sunday afternoon. Terry was the UKCAA Chairman. Members have been notified through normal formal channels. He was a wonderful guy, I only knew him for 4 years - so warm, freindly and approachable. A fantastic flier and a superb aeromodeller. His models were a work of art Martyn

IanN
Simply awful Never met him, nor saw him fly, but I much admired his work on here (most recently through the UKCAA threads). I have a Newman Precision Aeros Loaded Dice 40 and was looking forwards to any feedback, which I was sure would be forthcoming, when I got around to blogging the build. That of course pales into complete insignificence next to the loss of his family and those who knew him Another great of our hobby gone. What terrible news Edited By IanN on 06/12/2016 14:34:
Adrian Smith 1
Gosh....how tragic. His Loaded Dice design with an OS 91FX was my first real aerobatic model. A great aircraft until I got too clever. Great man will be sadly missed.

Paul Marsh
I've seen Terry a few times. Shame, but I remember his famous "Leisure Suits" he wore in the late 80s' early nineties. RIP
Peter Android
Not wishing to intrude on His Close Friends and Family whatsoever It Was an absolute pleasure to have met Terry We shared like - minded views on many subjects , not least Model Aeroplanes. What a very great shame that He has been taken from us, before His Time. Top Class Designer , Flyer and Builder . World Class Human Being. Respect . Dave Wilshere
Only ever met him at places like the Nationals and Sandown Park, but his son Andy is in the shop every week, a super keen aeromodeller too. Terry had been working with the another magazine title on designs and articles, I'm sure he could have taught people a lot. A friend bought one of Terry's Loaded Dice models when he had break from the hobby a few years ago and it was a joy to fly.
