CARPERFECT
Percy. I am a member of the Windermere club. I joined last year. I have two foamies already. And i know about what length they should be how far they should be from the prop and the step. Shape NO ? If i get them wrong , its a bit cold for a swim in March in Ullswater. Robin Colbourne
Outerzone has a plan for 36" floats with former sections, although they look a bit too long and thin to me. **LINK** This set is from Radio Control Modeler (an American magazine, hence the single 'L': **LINK** Advice on floats here: **LINK**
PatMc
What type, size & weight is the model ?
CARPERFECT
The plane is a Piper Cub, 68" wings, 43" body with auw of 2.5 kg
Geoff Jackson
My FUnky Cub is slightly bigger and I got Great Planes 60 size floats off ebay. I can tell you they are a significant build, mostly in ply, very strong double ply keel and they are 44 inches long! I too joined the Windermere guys this year and hope to fly this summer. Ullswater is stunning and looking forward to the camp site.
CARPERFECT
See you in March. If weather is fit. Not warm enough for camping though. the floats need to be about 70/80% of the fuselage. 34 "

Geoff Jackson
Hi Percy, Last September was my first visit believe it or not! I went J40 and then Pooley Bridge, lovely route and pretty quick. Left it late in life but trying to get as many disciplines in as I can before the Great Examiner comes calling!

Mowerman
The Reading club have regular float-plane fly-ins (The strip floods most winters) and about 15 years back one of the members would supply foam blanks(eps) suitable for Wot4 and similar size models. Perhaps one of their members will have details?
Geoff Jackson
Hi Percy, look forward to meeting up perhaps. I was impressed by the site and the guys were very friendly. They also have a recovery dinghy! Might save me the cost of a pair of waders!Pooley Bridge looks very nice too.

Geoff Jackson
Percy, Don't recall seeing the name on the rescue dinghy. Titanic of any number is pushing optimism! The new Pooley Bridge looks good.£5 membership for 5 weekends is peanuts in the scheme of things for joining the Windermere guys. Campsite is good value as well and we cantake our little Border Terrier - hes part of the family.
