Ken Lighten
I’m building a Microaces model and I’m after some foam safe super glue that I can go to Wickes or similar to buy rather than having to wait for the postman! - if at all possible, if anyone has suggestions they would be much appreciated Ken
Pete B
Can't think of any possibilities other than 'The Range' or other craft shops...? Pete
Ron Gray
@Ken I used Uhu Por for my Microaces Brisfit (see build log elsewhere on this forum) and only used CA for the rigging. I've used foam safe for that but if I was careful (very) I could have used ordinary for that as it is sticking to plastic, not foam (well apart from the tail rigging where I used Uhu Por). I did look for local stockists of foam safe in non model shops whilst I was away but drew a blank, so left it until I got back home. Shops such as 4-Max and Nexus are great at quick posting so you should get it next day.
Denis Watkins
Those Ron, and Blackburn Models post same day that they get your order
Ken Lighten
Thanks for all the responses chaps, it’s the Brisfit that I’m building too Ron (I’ve been following your posts closely), and am using Uhu POR for the most part, it was the rigging I wanted it for but Hadn’t noticed that it’s only the tail that goes through foam, in which case I shall do as you have. Must say I’m quite enjoying this build even with my shaky hands! Ken
Ron Gray
One thing I did with the Uhu Por was to apply it to the rigging, let it go off for 15 mins then pull the thread tight. The Por works like contact adhesive then and holds the thread in place.

Mike Stevens
Most local model shops will keep foam safe cyno. UHU POR is good too.
Petrol Pete
If anyone's after normal superglue, try Toolstation the sell 50g pots of thick and thin for about £2-50 ,I've used it for the last few years and its good. they also sell the activator cheap. Ken Lighten
Typical!, Wilco’s functional super glue is only sold in certain stores - and the one in our town ain’t one of them! bit the bullet and ordered some online 😒 Edited By Pete B - Moderator on 07/12/2017 09:25:

Ken Lighten
I tried the ‘Instant Bond’ sold in the same 2g tubes on some scrap hoping it would be the same as the ‘functional’ but it desolves the foam Ken
