Warped wing ribs

I recently purchased a 2nd hand Flair Junior 60 kit but there is a problem with the wing ribs, they are warpped.

They are 1/16 ply and have had a weight on them for a week but as soon as I uncover them they spring back into their warpped shape.

I have thought of moistening them before putting the weight on but I not sure this would help.

Any suggestions.

Yep, you can dampen the ply, BUT not excessively as you might find the laminations start to separate. Also you will probably need to raise them with a spacer or two, so you can apply some bend in the opposite direction to the existing warp as the wood dries out (naturally is best)

I haven't built a Flair kit but I'm sure that I've read that this is almost a feature of Flair's liteply ribs and normally resolves itself once they are built into the structure, without introducing any tendency to warp.

I have built Flair models and I second what Martin says, unless they are at right angles......... build em in.

If you are still worried, wet em and iron em as above.
