I use a Futaba 9cap with the Futaba 8 ch 2.4 module and FrSky Rxs..I want to mix the bottom 25% of the throttle to turn on landing lights on channel 7 . Over 25% the lights go off. What is the best way to do a mix in the Tx?? Cheers

Those that know how to do this with Futaba are waiting in the wings to come in with a sledge hammer after my comment Cymaz.

You may remember in the olden days we formed a cam from a servo disc

When the servo was made live by Y lead to the throttle, the cam rotated on the high part, leaving a micro switch ON

As the cam got to the low part, this allowed the micro switch off

You are most likely using an electronic switch

On my equipment, I would mix channel 7 to the throttle

Then observing the landing light, would adjust the channel 7 throw to either 25% or 75% to achieve the result

You can do no harm hooking up and going to the mix, without prop on model

Cheers Denis.

I’ve done the cam / switch idea on another plane...works well. Just received an 8 channel FrSky replacement for the 6 channel, ( put the elevators on separate channels for a bit of safety). Once the lights are here I will have a play on some mixes and report back. If I find a way to do it , it might be useful to someone else.

I’ve got THIS coming in the post and it going to be installed just between the fuselage and inboard engines on this...

I don't want to rub this in, but that is just the sort of thing that is dead easy in OpenTx - one reason why I love it!

OK, I know,....you haven't got OpenTx so I'm really just annoying you - I'm sorry sad

PS Birthday coming up????...wink 2

Not just Open Tx, but Open Tx wasn't around when the 9cap was sold.

Update....smiley

I think I figured it out. Did a bit searching and found **THIS**. A big help.

I put an old Picoswitch into ch8 on the Rx, ( it's a Frsky TFR8).

Programme set-up

  • End Point...Ch8, Aux.100/100
  • Reverse ...normal
  • Programme. P. Mix6
  1. On
  2. Throttle to Aux 2
  3. Pos1 -20%,Pos2 -15%, Pos3 +22%, Pos4 +51%, Pos5 +70%
  4. Mix on
  5. Mas: Throttle
  6. Slave: Aux2
  7. Link: Off
  8. SW: F
  9. Position : NULL (this means that it is always on)

The throttle travel for on/off position on channel 8 is adjusted by changing the %'s on the 5 positions.

Below is a short video..it's easier than an explanation. Only to say that when the green light is on the switch is on and vice versa..

I'm hoping that the switch used for the demo will work the same as the landing light switch
