Electric Motor for 0.49cu in Conversion

Hi all,

I'm building a free-flight model for the Nats, a Mecury Wizard. The plan calls for a .049cu in engine, but I'd like to go electric.

Clearly doesn't need to be overpowered, just a decent climb-cut-glide.

Can anyone point me in the right direction of a motor/esc/battery combo? I'll need to figure out how to do a timed run of the motor but sure that has been solved somewhere on Internet!

don't know where to get them but electronic timers are available for free flight /contest models. Try shops that sell free flight models? Steve Webbs, SMC possibly

I believe that a Cox Baby Bee type 0.49 puts out somewhere around 40 Watts, so that's a good starting point. For a timer take a look at Dens Models. He does a range of bespoke electronic timers.

If you go brushless you'll need an ESC, timer & something to provide a simulated Rx signal. Probably simpler solution would be a 400 brushed motor, 2s lipo & timer.
