Peter Miller
I can tell you that the first few seconds of that flight induced a serious attack of half a crown/sixpence syndrome
Peter Miller
MAK 15 MP has now been sorted. Not a Super Sixty type model but flies well and a decent scale;like glide The Red Kit did not like it!! But decided to give the MAK best
i12fly
Another Miller Masterpiece. Well done Peter, brilliant picture. We need another series of articles -Miller Masterclass...…?
Peter Miller
I didn't take the picture. Fellow club member Michael Morris took it. For some reason, these days I can never get any flying shots in focus. And that is in spite of tryuing with three DSLRs AND three 70 300mm zoom lenses soMichael does all the flying shots these days/
Peter Miller
Afew more details. After the first test session which was a bit hairy I moved the CG forward, reduced elevator throws, removed the aileron differential and changed the wing outriggers. After discussion with Stuart Pickett who flies my models for the camera and the hariest test flights. I am going to move the CG a fraction further forward and add coupled rudder to the ailerons. The model will loop and roll and has a very respectable glide. The white on the wings is NON SCALE but I was ordered to do that for better photos in the magazine!!!! Peter Miller
Geoff How is your smaller version going. I have found that the CG needs to be forward of the one shown on the CO2 model plan.Mine is ending up half way betwen that CG mark and the leading edge at the root by the pod. You need very little elevator movement too.
Geoff Peacock
Posted by Peter Miller on 01/10/2018 08:59:53: Geoff How is your smaller version going. No progress at the moment Peter. I'm struggling with a bad back, so sitting at the computer for more than 10 minutes gets painful. I'll keep you posted when things start happening again. Peter Miller
Another good flying session this afternoon. All the latest tweeks have got the MAK flying really nicely now. It loops and rolls really well, Glides beautifully and does not have any bad habbits. I threw it around a lot and it never tried to bite in any way. Take offs on even smooth very short grass are a little reluctant but there was no wind at all to help it.
