Trevor
Well, late but different, here's my offering. Yet to be flown, AUW 3lb 2.5oz. Sorry about the cluttered background, but I'm not about to brave storm Callum for an outdoor shot just yet! It's been a pleasure to take part in this mass build. Peter Garsden
Love that one Trevor - presumably all in solarfilm? Where did you get the decals? Surely not painted on? 3lb 2 oz is an all time record. Must be the planking?
Trevor
Tim of modelmarkings.com supplied the film and the markings, which are all cut from vinyl. I did paint the spinner though! Trevor
Peter Garsden
Yes Trevor, I have used Tim, he is excellent. I have a vinyl cutter now but it is a real hassle, and I often wish I had not bought it. Roundels are a nightmare.
Trevor
For the record, the Red Bull Hurricane has now flown - and very well it went too. I've only got the launch pic below as evidence so far though! Conditions were quite blustery, but it cut through the air well. I was surprised to find that I could ease in full up elevator and still maintain aileron control as the model gently nodded. I repeated this (non) stall test with some spoileron (up ailerons) dialled in, with the same result. This bodes well for landing in the restricted areas available at most of our slopes. Thanks again to Matt for the design and to everyone who has shared their build experiences here along the way. Trevor
Peter Garsden
Well done Trevor, the design really is a peach isn't it. Fantastic PSS plane worthy of many more flights.
Trevor
I know this thread has really run its course but, just in case it is of interest, I've added a supplementary entry to my build diary on the use of an internal magnetic switch in the Hurricane. **LINK** Trevor
Phil Cooke
Nice one Trevor, thanks for the update... The event has been and gone, that's true! But some models are still being finished, and we are still missing photos and a brief description of some airframes that were finished in time for the event and flown, but never reported - I won't mention names - but lets see if this thread 'bump' jogs any memories and provokes the upload of any new pictures! Trevor
Ok, at last a few flying shots, courtesy of Chris Williams. He kept saying 'lower, please', hence the partial spoileron deployment visible in a couple of the shots:
Phil Cooke
Great photos Trevor thanks for sharing - looks the business in that colourful scheme!! Alan Gorham_
Err, do you want the politician's answer? Which is that it will definitely be ready to fly on 6 April? Actually, the airframe was ready for NYE, it's the bombs, their releases and the pilot that are still not done
Andy Meade
You should get a job painting the Forth Road Bridge - that'll be done first
