I'm recently having centering issues on a hitec HS 5245mg servo, and need to swap it out. I'm running with a direct LiFe but suspect putting a dropper in wont help, so I am on the look out for alternatives. I have some normal 225's, and will stick one of those in with a dropper in the interim, but just wondered with the development of increase in use of some 'cheaper' brands, which models of 16-26g servos people are using??.. cheers Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Denis Watkins Posted September 12, 2018 Share Posted September 12, 2018 Do a quick check on your Tx Monitor, to see if the sticks are centering Most makes allow stick calibration, and some are shown on YouTube. Martin McIntosh Posted September 12, 2018 Share Posted September 12, 2018 I have no experience of that particular servo but some do not like above 5V. Check the spec. I also use 2S LiFe packs but sometimes use a 5V UBEC with them. You could try using a servo tester which should eliminate any Tx stick problems. Current servos I am buying are Savox 0252/3, Hitech 5485 and the Corona range, all of which are excellent so far and do not break the bank. Martin Harris - Moderator Posted September 12, 2018 Share Posted September 12, 2018 I've had quite a few of the mid sized Corona servos which have worked very well...but...I've found the mounting lugs are extremely prone to breaking off. This isn't through abuse (as far as I can tell) as no other makes have suffered similarly in my hands but I'd be interested to hear if this has been a problem for anyone else? The tx and rx are fine, I know it is the servo, but thanks for checking. The centering is the key requirement for me, and so what Chris says about the centering of the hyperion is quite appealing. (I realise you meant 7.4v but I couldn't resist it) I would agree with you and be very wary of using them at 7.4v though.
