trebor
A sad day today, I put my old go to model into the top of a tree The damage it received getting it down has made me very sad. I liked flying it but what can I replace it with ? Or do I just get another, what do you chaps recommend ?
Josip Vrandecic -Mes
Hi Trebor , Durafly tundra 1300.Cheers. Jo
Old Geezer
Another FunCub, assuming the motor, ESC, servos and Rx are salvageable and you feel you can still rely on them then another FunCub kit is the least expensive option - unless you secretly fancy a change. Ron Gray
Grand Tundra, brilliant 'plane, although somewhat bigger than my Funcub.
McG 6969
+1 for Josip's HK Tundra or the Grand version. Just got myself the small 1300 one and eager now to get the box opened. Cheers Chris Edited By McG 6969 on 01/04/2019 22:22:
trebor
The Funcub is a good all round flyer and on a slight breeze you can hover it in one spot but I do fancy a change. I did think of a Riot or Wot 4 foamy. Would they glide and float the same ?
Geoff S
The Riot is OK, I've got one and before I got my ARTF Wot4 Mk2 (balsa) was my 'go to' model (it still is sometimes) but it's very different from either a Fun Cub or a Tundra (I have both). The thing I don't like about the Tundra is the number of tiny screws you need to fit to assemble it (and I've had some plastic threads strip). It flies well but I prefer the FunCub. I don't know about the Wot4 foamie as I've never flown one but I'm fairly sure it won't have the short take-off/landing as the FunCub and doesn't have flaps to play with. Mike T
I'm on my 4th Wot 4 foam-e. The others succumbed to abuse and , er, enthusiasm. It's the best all round hack I've ever had. Geoff - even with the standard motor and prop it will leap off the ground every bit as quickly as a Fun Cub! No flaps though - it doesn't need them. But if you must have flappage, then another Fub Cub or the Tundra is the way to go.
trebor
I did have working flaps but never really used them, like you say not needed. I have seen a few Wot 4 foam e`s snap in two easy. The Riot looks a bit tougher.
