Peter Miller
There wos a touch of up elevator but when I corrected it went down much harder than I would expect.. The symptoms of a rearward CG I agree. Elevator control throws at low rates are 1/4" each way. Next time I will reduce throws and also reduce the power by using a smaller prop and allow it to gain more height before correcting.
Peter Miller
I have now solved the problem pf why it dived into the ground. It was basically a total idiot called Peter MIller. My only excuse is that I have been having problems with a mains water leak, a semi blocked sewer and a pigeon stucj half way down my chimney for four days. As a result I have been stressed out and tired out When I set the controls up the elevator servo must have been out of line and even though the control directions were independantly checked on the field no one noticed what I should have seen at home, at neutral elevator stick I actually had half down elevator. As I have saind many times "I can't help it if I am thick!!!"
Paul C.
Good to hear you have found the cause it's easy to get distracted when other things are going wrong 😨 . We had to get wire covers put on our chimneys after a magpie decided to pay a visit , ended up with bird plus a load of soot in the living room 😈
kc
It can happen to anybody Peter! I had noticed that your static shot showed some down elevator while the inflight shot showed some up which made me wonder if the elevator was reversed or perhaps jamming. Peter Miller
I console myself with the thought that Roy Chadwick, designer of the Avro Tudor was killed in one which took of with the aileron controls reversed. Now that takes some doing!!
Peter Miller
Well yesterday was perfect and I was able to fly Moon Dancer 2 and getthe flying shots. It is highly aerobatic and I flew the usual aerobatics plus my square loops and four point rolls. It really needs a slightly larger rudder to fly sustained knife edge but I am happy with it as it is. kc
The last issue of RCME said the Moon Dancer 2 would be a plan in the March issue due out on 14th Feb - that's today. Has anybody got their copy yet?

charlie holdford
I do make a big mess, honestly Peter! But I have a working restriction, from the station commander, that I must clear up. As this is the only restriction I obay religiously , Hi Daniel, Thanks, hopefully the photos will help, and any non plan mistakes that I make will certainly help you.... Some progress today, glue the ply doublers. Then I started cutting for the next longer term build (72" Lancaster) The LED lighting over the desk creates interesting colour on photo's Edited By charlie holdford on 19/02/2020 19:04:
charlie holdford
Made a start on putting the fuselage together. Due to the doublers it needed a bit of assistance to keep it all square as the glue dried.
charlie holdford
Still it worked, so far its all straight and square...
Peter Miller
I cut 90 degrees triangles of 1/8" balsa and super glue them in place to hold the formers vertical. Just my way of doing the job.
charlie holdford
Hi Peter, Thanks for the tip. I have just adding the last few former's and have found a discrepancy in the plans. The F6 former cutout is 5mm too short. Making the top stringer out of alignment.
Peter Miller
Sorry. Missed that during checking the proofs. I should just glue an extra piece of 1/8" sheet across the bottom of the former.
charlie holdford
No problem, so much easier to find when its someone else ... that's what I did
