McG 6969
... no probs, Dwain... ... your 'undying love' and certainly 'admiration' will do the job perfectly... That nav light proposal is a great improvement. Why not a loading circuitry to keep a small 1S Lipo loaded when there is no wind? Cheers Chris

Dwain Dibley.
Hello John, We are all OK, just finding stuff to do, the garden has never been so good and tidy LOL. Only working one day a week on full pay, so lucky really. I hope your Family is OK too. I can tell you where the wind is coming from if you want...... D.D. Dwain Dibley.
Been busy in the work shop again today, making something useful. I have decided to get my few I.C. engines up to scratch. So a revamp of the old test bed was on the cards. I have an old battery in my home made field trolley, that I am trying to resurrect to power the starter, but I also have a booster pack, you know the type with compressor, USB, and ciggy lighter ports X 2. It couldn't start an argument, never mind a car..... (Cue John Stones "Oh yes it could" LOL) So I ordered a ciggy lighter male to bare wire extension 12 V, that I will solder some bullets onto, so I should be able to use that at the field in the future. I have 4 mm bullets on my starter, that push into crocodile clips for my personal use, but they can go into club-mates panels when they forget theirs... as they often do. All good fun, another day filled, and mental health still intact..... D.D. The Old one, with a manual throttle. New one. Meanwhile it was blowing a SSW, with rain......... The finished item with remote glow heater and a servo for the throttle. All the mod cons EH ?? Just needs a good coat of summat to protect it now. The portable booster pack, which will be useful for battery charging at the field, 12 V, and it has an inverter so can supply 230/240 up to a point. Dwain Dibley.
Today my 12 v plug arrived so that's soldered up. Whilst I was in there, I spotted my first ever Heli looking at me from the top shelf. Sans servos since about 2007, after being retired when we all moved away from fixed pitch. I decided to help, three assorted no 9 g servos, and a matching pair of xtals later, and she's ready to go. Can anyone recognise the model ?? D.D. Dwain Dibley.
So.....I remembered I used to fly this heli on a Hitec Optic 6 radio, a trip to eBay land produced this on channel 68. Like brand new.... I now have to get the spectra module don't I. What are the chances........Sussex models have one in stock. All this nostalgia got me digging out all my old 35meg stuff. Anyone remember falcon indoor stuff. Propino, Whizzbang etc. ?? I also have a kiel kraft Spitfire with one of their breeze block rx plus 2servos in it. Oh what fun. D.D. Dwain Dibley.
Perhaps I can paint this once it's flown properly. I never got round to adjusting the side and down thrust in 2008. D.D.

Dwain Dibley.
I had to fix this tiny wee helicopter today, one of the control rods on the swash gave way mid air... I got it down ok, but when I went to screw it back in the ball link, I found it had snapped clean off. I ordered 2 sets from Kings Lynn model shop Tuesday evening and they dropped on the mat this morning...Well Done KLMS.. Anyway, these components are very small, 3mm screws and the like, so I worked under my magnifier lamp. I had to remove the elevator cyclic servo to get the remnants of the old rod out and to facilitate the insertion of the new one. Five minutes later, as my 5 year old grand daughter would say, and Bingo it's done. Tested it pinned down to my desk. LOL D.D. Under the lamp Here you can see the rod just hooks into the linear servo arm. Daughter (16) and I made this for Pud Pud. Dwain Dibley.
Today I have been fiddling with my KielKraft Spitfire, I built this about 15 years ago, and it never flew as there was inadequate down and side thrust. I have now hopefully rectified this and with my "New" optic 6 radio should be able to get it in the air. I made new tail feathers, as the old depron ones were knackered. Also a few skin repairs were needed. I used thin brown paper to cover some holes in the tissue, I covered the tail feathers in some tissue I found keeping a canopy clean, it worked a treat, glued with thinned down pva, and "shrunk" with covering iron. No cakes today !! D.D. Hole repairs. Also I had to cut the hatch and this is held on with bands, you can see the little carbon rods in this picture. Hinges are Blenderm tape. Dwain Dibley.
Got a three bladed prop from Micronradiocontrol today. It's a 5 X 3, but I dont think it will fly her, doesn't feel like enough oomph. I have some two bladed 5 X 4.5's coming. D.D.
