001
Not my first choice, but a good one, thick-ish wing. Good proportions. Please produce a moulded cowling, for that radiator. And the later bubble canopy....Lets hope that tail stays on!
winchweight
Hmmmmm...... not a twin then?....

Tony Nijhuis
Both the Beaufighter and Hornet featured strongly so as far as i am concerned they are on the TO DO list, thats for sure!As for the winning model the Typhoon, I have posted in the gallery the one I designed and built last night.....!!! I jest LOL!!!!..... I built 18-years ago, around 72" for a 60 size motor. From what I remember it was a cracking flyer so now all I need to do dig the plan out from somewhere!!!!As the model build progresses, Tom will post pictures and up-datesRegards Tony

Ian Jones
Great, my first choice so one satisfied customer here. Could this be a winter build on the way then?
David Ashby - Moderator
Ian We hope to have the model in our late summer special, we're still debating the size at the moment, if it's 60" or less then it'll be a free plan but a larger model can accomodate retacts better but the plan isn't free! Any thoughts? David.
Mudflap
I'd pay up for a model with retracts. It adds lots to the model for a relitivly small price (we hope!)
Broken Prop
Fantastic! Can't wait to start spilling cyano.Car door or bubble canopy? One to suit retracts would be nice.
Tony Nijhuis
Has to be 60" then and has to have retracts...mechanical.... and for either electric or IC... As the prototype 63" Spit in the next issue was built as an IC I think I'll do this one electric with the IC option... I think a VAC formed cowl and canopy is in order too. What I will do is make the canopy a bubble type but if you want to make the car door version the canopy could be cut and an extention piece put in. I did this on the Tyhoon I built some years ago and seemed to work well.
Broken Prop
Thanks Tony.Looks like next winter's project has been found already!
Antony Wright
David - If its going in the Summer special issue - cant you make it 60+ and still give the plans free? After all it is the first model that we as readers have been given an opportunity to vote on and that kind of makes it special to us all :)
arthur bishop
yes Richard,I'm glad you mentioned the tail, they fluttered when they came off you know...unless the peelo was lucky and it came off after touch down! would it be possible to include the early canopy also on the plan?
David Ashby - Moderator
We'll see what we can do Antony but if Tony can get retracts on a 60" span then it'll be a free one ;-) David.
Paul Alexander
Couldn't be happier, love the Hawker family, currently flying a Hurricance. Lady like this needs retracts and not have her legs hanging out, also needs to sound right, nice Saito up front purring away.
Ian Jones
Daved/allApologies for slow reply (been flying jets with Paul Heckles but that's another story).Model size? I would prefer pretty well dead on 60" because that is a usable size and I will be able to fit it in my hangar. Power? I would prefer a 4st glow for sound (unless a noisy sound effects unit is to be fitted - if so what's the point of going electric anyway?)& realistic handling. I can't stretch my pocket to a petrol engine.Free Plan? I had presumed this was to be a free plan as I suspect would many others. Having said that I wouldn't mind paying a few quid. Matt Hackers
A Free Plan would be nice and retracts would be a Bonus. Moulded Canopy and Cowl are a must have.
Peter Roberts
The project sounds great. Ic and electric possibilities - better still. Retracts (and flaps?). Four stroke. Pre formed kit fatastic. Can we get laser cut parts and materials kit? Paying a few quid for a plan will not be an issue. Remember Tony there are quite a few of us who haven't got your very considerable skills but who would like to build such things. All your previous models have been show stoppers. Will the kit be flown at the Hop Farm? Is that a date?Hope so - thanks - PeterPS What about a Fairey Swordfish next time?

David Ashby - Moderator
We're hoping to make it the free plan in our early autumn special issue, watch this space.
RUSTLER
I CANT WAIT TO START BUILDING THIS ONE,HOW ABOUT SOMETHING NEXT TIME FROM THE BOLTON PAUL STABLE, I BUILT AND FLEW A BALLIO IN 1974 AT THE NATS. AT BARKSTON HEATH AND THEN A DEFIANT IN 76, BOTH WERE BRILLIANT FLYERS.
