Andy J
Need a mixture of small and large self adhesive (or heat applied) transfers for several petrol and glow powered 1/4 scale models. What is the best approach for producing individual large letters and small text strings like "No Hold, Fuel" etc? Have a A4 laser printer and a low power laser but unsure if its better to produce the transfers myself or find a firm to print them using my supplied graphics file produced on say Inkscape or PowerPoint. Have tried with some success cutting out large individual letters out of solarfilm using my laser but don't want to use this technique for the small word strings. PeterF
When I had access to a colour laser printer I printed logos onto laser printable vinyl self adhesive sheets from ebay and cut them out using a scalpel. Great for logos with easy shapes but it would be a real pain for lettering though.
Craig Carr
Hello Andy Send Callie graphics in the states an email. Tell her the model and scheme you want. If you tell her the wingspan she scales the graphics accordingly. She does vinyl transfer type so it’s just the graphic that goes on (no borders etc). She did these for my Vulcan, designed, scaled, printed and posted to UK for £25 all in. The quality is exceptional and worth every penny example below…. All the smaller graphics are there as well if you look on the first pic She won’t post till you’ve seen a draft of the artwork and are happy Craig
Andy J
Thanks Craig but don't like buying from the USA as I always seem to get hit with import payments from the postal carrier. Has anyone tried using the various ebay sellers who will print custom stickers on self adhesive vinyl?
Tim Flyer
Worth trying Pyramid Models . I got some good decals for my 80inch Spitfire there . They are a UK supplier and good quality and very efficient in my experience, https://www.pyramidmodels.com

All the smaller graphics are there as well if you look on the first pic She won’t post till you’ve seen a draft of the artwork and are happy Craig I have used Callie Graphics from Warbirds decaals to the Gruffalo and his companions and every time great service. Perhaps because they send the decals in an A4 envelope its doesn't attract the parcel police, but I have not paid duty or fees on any I have purchased (last lot came a couple of weeks ago). We had a bit of mix up with some nose art scaling a couple of years back, they resized it and sent the new ones FOC although it was not entirely their fault. I tried uk sellers, didn't reply to emails and when I phone a couple they didn't seem very interested unless it was a stock item.
Craig Carr
Hello Andy, 4 orders / 4 deliveries, never hit once with duties/fees. As Chris says they are sent in a plain A4 envelope. It might as well be a letter. callie did my Concorde and vampire as well. Craig Edited October 14, 2021 by Craig Carr
