toto
Hi Grumpy, Beat me to it with the touch of rudder. At the end of the day, you are having to control it on 3 axis .... up / down, left / right and straight ahead. The later being achieved with use of the rudder. As I said .... I stumbled across the basic roll and the use of down elevator quite by accident. Tonight is all about circuits and " spacial awareness " in terms of distance from the runway. Once I get a feel for the overall circuit size, then focus on achieving consistently neat circuits and figure of eights etc. If I can get that .... I may just learn to bond with my sim, enjoy using it .... and the weather becomes a little more irrelevant. Time to focus. Toto
toto
Has some more SIM time. Mixed results as far as the circuits went. Still have a tendency to fly too far out. I'll perceivere though. It will be worth it once I get the circuit size / footprint under control. Toto
Andy Stephenson
Some simulators have a zoom facility when the model gets to a certain distance.
toto
Possibly Andy, I'm still in my infancy with navigating my way around any options. I dare say I'll stumble across some of these features as my familiarity gains a bit momentum. Toto
GrumpyGnome
Well, zooming will mean you keep it in view, but you may end up flying mahoosive circuits 🙂 Swings and roundabouts. The more you use it, the more you'll find which features are useful.
Philip Lewis 3
Personally I'd fly the biggest plane I could find, something like a 3 meter wingspan aerobat, there will be one there always is. I always lost the trainers when using a sim just get to small, flying an aerobat on low rates won't do you any harm either.
