toto
I noticed these seem to be back in stock. It's a model I looked at previously and wanted but there were not becoming available again until June. I noticed they are now back and so ordered one from 4 - Max. I looked up a couple of threads on the forum but wondered if there was anyone with anything to add on these. All comments appreciated. toto
Thanks John, This could be a leccy version .... the jury is still out on that as yet. If I was to go down the other route .....it would maybe be another Stinger..... like my variant. ... time will tell. Toto
paul devereux
This is a classic model. Based on a full-size homebuilt, so it translates perfectly to a R/C model:Bowers Fly Baby - Wikipedia
toto
Let's see if this one does when its built .... and it's a little bit down the que. Still have the Spacewalker to go before this. Many thanks Paul .... and by the way ....... that avatar is nuts ...... has me in stitches every time I look at it. Cheers Toto On read it briefly but a terrific link. Many thanks. toto
Arrived today ..... good delivery service from 4 Max. Had a quick peek only as I was busy firefighting on other fronts. Never gave it a complete inspection so will hopefully get around to that tomorrow. On the face of it though ..... all looks good. No apparent damage to the main box which can sometimes be a good sign and a quick surface look when I opened it suggests the same. The various parts come covered as usual but not sellotaped/ secured in the box. So movement in transit could have been possible. I'm sure all will be good anyway. I'll report back tomorrow. PS ..... the colour scheme looks very nice and quite rich in colour. .... should make up into a very nice model. Toto

Jon H
I have a few customers flying these and they all seem very happy. The only report i have heard is that the undercarriage is rock solid and could do with mods that add some damping. Looking at the design a few slots cut in the legs and a 2nd floating axle would be easy enough to do and add some nice suspension for softer landings
toto
Hi Earlybird ...... you have been exonerated.... I may even listen to you again ..... Hi Jon ... what are your customers kitting this out with then ? Cheers Toto
Jon H
a 70 is more than enough but some have gone for the 80 for future projects. Its basically an upside down piper cub so it shouldnt be screaming around the place like a mad thing
toto
I'd like to work out if it would take a two stroke with rear exhaust port to save butchering the cowl. Or anything else that would accomodate that. Need to look further into it. Toto
toto
Gave the model a going over tonight just to check it in a bit more detail. .... really .... mostly ok with the exception of a few marks on the front of the elevator surface but I think this will clean off. even if it doesn't it's no big deal but worth mentioning. The covering is about 95% fine with maybe a couple of creases to iron out ..... again no big deal. So a few photo's just to whet your appetite. ok .... the staple shot ..... and off comes the lid ... and the first thing I look at ... is the elevator .... with a bit of a rough finish but really barely noticeable ...... to a blind man .... the rudder ..... Now .... this is a little different from the usual rudder install .... especially when it comes to gluing the hinges ..... but I will cover that in the build ( but worth noting before you go charging in ). Transfers and destructions .... please note the instructions area little better than what you get to download on line ... a bt more detailed as I have noticed with a couple of models that I have tackled so far. The first of the wings .... pristine .... as is the other which I did not bother to photograph. Note the little holes for the cable wing supports as you will see spattered around on the other control surfaces and fuselage etc. Really nice colour scheme. and the wing servo hatch .... and yet more wing cable support holes the under carriage frames which are substantial .... iron mongery pack with fuel tank and all sorts ..... next up ..... the Simon ..... the electric conversion pack ..... and we move on to the fuselage ....... note how I give you a duff shot of the underside first ...... what a tease. hey presto .... how nice is that ....... off with the Hatch .... to reveal the magnets holders ... and again ..... the view to the rear of the fuselage ...... and to the front ..... look at them lines ...... just lovely ....... a view of the instrumentation panel in the cockpit .... basic but something that you could make a feature out of if you wanted to take it to the next level ..... and the windscreen ..... a and last .... a quick view of the rear end ..... again some cable support holes and as mentioned earlier... just a little sting in the tail as it is a little different to what I am used to so far and I know when looking through the instructions that I need to pay attention here ..... just some minor but I think crucial differences. OK .... thats the treat for tonight. Hope you like toto
john stones 1 - Moderator
I do Toto, my sort of model, a 4 stroke would be perfect for it. 😉
toto
Thanks John ..... I am torn between making this or my Space Walker my next assembly. I think I will stick with the plan and do the Space Walker. I already have a force .46 glow engine for that which gives me choices of either electric or glow models in high or low wing formats. This little fellow will be another IC as you suggest. I have not looked at 4 strokes as yet but I like it so much , I'd like to do something different with it. I can see this becoming a " go to " favorite going forward .... and once I can fly of course. It is definetely my kind of model ..... there again ...... so are the others ..... 😄 cheers for now and fingers crossed for some flying time tomorrow. toto

I love the rounded edges at the wing ends, bit of a nice change from the straight edges. I will look forward to seeing this going together. It should be a really good flyer.
toto
Just a brief update on this ..... looks like a Stinger 15cc 2 stroke petrol with rear mounted exhaust port is winging it's way for this model. That should give it a kick. Toto
