Peter Christy
Looks like Americans at least are waking up to the reality! Drone delivery service I particularly like the quote at the end: Quote Yet even on the threshold of growth, a question lingers. Now that the drones finally exist in at least limited form, why did we think we needed them in the first place? -- Pete 2

Don Fry
I could see a slow robot, with parcel slots, opened by a code, travelling on the pavement at 2 mph, armoured, heavy, really good sirens to activate when attacked working in towns, maybe. But given that scrotes will do robbery on delivery drivers( max sentence life), I reckon, if I know how to drop a drone, ( magistrates only offence), they will soon. Cuban8
Obviously, the role of autonomous flying vehicles will find a place in our societies - we've seen how such specialist technology can be of use to public services, security and very sadly in the military environment. Where they're intended to operate in what one might call day to day public life is another matter entirely. All manner of problems and issues that are ignored by techy wonks won't go away and I'm afraid that IMHO, many of those in government have been beguiled by the nonsense coming from those very people. Nobody really knows where advanced UAV technology will wind up, so it's right that we don't simply ignore it in some luddite fashion. With that in mind, I support the BMFA's recommendation that the location of all model flying sites be available to the UAV industry as outlined in the current BMFAN and as a request emailed from BMFA to all clubs to consider registering their site.

2.4g Shaun
Yes, as Frank says old news. We've had them in Leeds since Nov 2022. They are great for making lazy people even lazier and forcing mothers with prams into the road or grass verge to pass them when they stop and block narrow pavements. For university campuses etc, great use of technology; suburbia, I'm not convinced but clearly many people like them as the initial trial was extended by the Co-op.
