  1. Posted by John F on 07/08/2014 11:14:38: Not so strange to me Lee. Where I work it can take several days, if not weeks to get done what I had initially promised to get done next day as other things get in the way or I am sent elsewhere at short notice, so I understand it is easy to forget or get sidetracked. I like to see things for the innocent nature they can be until absolute proof of nefarious intent is evident. So maybe it would be a good idea not to promise that it will be done the next day ? Just a thought.
  2. Your attention to detail is impressive. Well done.
  3. Hi there all. I have managed to mount the engine and get some fuel running through it. I am however struggling to get it to run consistently.  I have had to reset needles to the factory recommended 2 turns out and prime with choke closed until petrol reaches carb . Then a further 6 flips , open choke and flip a further 4-5 to draw mixture into engine.  I then hand flip and get a 1/2 to 1 second run after 3 or 4th try. If I increase priming engine does not start at all , trying an electric starter just floods engine. Any suggestions on what I can do to get it to run.  P.S have checked there is a nice strong spark at plug end and the ignition battery is fully charged.
  4. Maybe you are being persuaded to purchase a cnc wood pack ????
  5. Hi all I have finally received the replacement cover from the states - was the better of a 6 week wait . Our postal service has a lot to answer for here as it took a week from America and then the balance to get to me.I have re-assembled everything and plan to do a test run this weekend. Just need to find a decent block of wood to mount the engine on  Will let everyone know how this pan out.

  11. Posted by Keiran Arnold on 12/02/2011 00:58:56: Remember guys a company is only as good as its last delivery: so if it fails the last consumer are you next? That is a pretty harsh line to take as we all make mistakes and even more so if you are a business as many other's i.e. your suppliers , delivery companies etc are extensions of your business.
  12. Thanx for reply Stephen , fair enough . We have also had endless rains in SA recently and this seriously curtailed any flying. How will you finish the model seeing that you are going for sheeting ? Fiberglass ? Or Film ?  Edited By BalsaBasher on 11/02/2011 09:42:04
  13. I agree , the mustang is quite pricey and a wot 4 would be a better choice. There is very little you cant do with it.
  14. Hi there Nice project , would it not make sense to test fly the smaller prototype first ? Before committing to building larger version ?
  15. Provided there is enough ventilation , I would use full strength
  16. I think that the world has become a lot smaller and as a result things cost pretty much the same. I try to support my local model shop whenever possible, but when purchasing items like servo's,batteries, and general hardware the internet provides the best return. I still purchase my wood, plane kits, fuel etc from my LHS but that is where it ends.  I dont think there is much to gain from bringing equipment back from the states with you unless there is a specific item that you will not be able to find elsewhere.
  17. This made me smile   Great use of space ...... Excellent build.
  18. Some build pics would be nice  Dont have to wait until you are finished.............
  19. Any flight reports ? Updates ?
  20. Wow is all I can say. Really impressive work
  21. Very nice - an awesome project, very well executed. Thanx for sharing.
  22. I have been in contact with Brian Winch and he suggests drilling holes in from the side and then adding 2 or 3 small screws to prevent the crack from spreading. i.e. side of carb manifold. This is now my plan of action.  The rear crankcase cover left the states on wednesday so should have it next week if all goes well.  A bit of luck and the engine could be given a test run again next weekend.  Will add some pics for those interested.  Have a 2metre span stik that might just work with this on it  Cheers Hilton
