  1. I've found with my Taranis & Horus that sound and picture files have to conform with the 7.3 file naming formatthat we know and love with Windows i.e. a max of seven letters in the name and three for the file type otherwise they won't be recognised. There are some characters you can't use in the file name but I think that's not what were discussing here. Steve B
  2. There are many things that can cause this. I recently had a similar problem in Windows 10 Internet Explorer freezing, problem turned out to be an add in called "Adbloc Plus" have you nstalled any software recently that may have caused the problem Steve B
  3. I used this web site calculator when I did my led's **LINK** Steve B
  4. I fitted a DLE30 to a modified 1.20 Electric size GB Models Yak 55 I fitted a DUO silencer from Just Engines and a Falcon 18X8 prop for running in This combo runs very quietly and I'm very impressed with it Steve B
  5. The Prop Guy carries 10mm to 8mm carbon bushes for this , only a couple of quid a pair. He also has Falcon Wood props which I use. Steve B
  6. I converted my DLE30 to a Single Bolt Adapter from **LINK** Works very well but it does add approx. 3/4" length to the engine. Steve B
  7. The box regulates the Rx output at 5V. The CDI output can be set to the users requirements. Whatever voltage is presented at the input goes straight to the servo's.. The instructions say you can freely set the alarm input voltage, I have a circuit block diagram but it's not possible to tell if there are any diode's in circuit. As a precaution I've now gone to 2 X LiPo's with regulator on one airframe and 2 X 5 Cell NiMH with regulator on another. Steve B
  8. I recently fitted out a 30CC plane with 5 Digital Servo's and 2 analogue servo's . I used 2 X 2300MaH LiFe batteries through a power distribution box the box also supplies output to the ignition unit. Whilst testing I set the distribution box to alarm if the input voltage fell below 6 Volts. When stirring the sticks the voltage alarm was constantly alarming which I wasn't happy with and have gone to 2 X LiPo with no problems. I tried 3 different pairs of Life's with exactly the same results. The total max current being drawn was 5 Amps so I guess the Life's couldn't hold their voltage under 5A load. I tried the same LiFe packs in a smaller plane with 4 X Mini size digitals with no problem at all. So after this experience I'm not confident using LiFe batteries in the larger more expensive planes. 9. I live in Northern Ireland 48 miles from my main flying club. It takes me one and a half hours which includes a short ferry ride across a short stretch of water. Each session costs me about £10 in travelling costs alone Steve B
  10. Whilst researching this project I discovered FRSKY have their own redundancy bus product albeit more expensive than the X10. Has anybody formed an opinion yet on the FRSKY product.
  11. Hi All I think I may give this system a try, has anybody used the Serial Link Programmer on a PC with Windows 10 ? Steve B
  12. Just a thought, you hadn't upgraded to Open Tx V2 recently without also replacing the sound files with a new set? Steve B
  13. Matt Could you detail how you set up your Taranis to warn when the Optiguard is activated Many thanks Steve B
  14. Hi All I'm fairly new to glassing as well. I have just tried the method described in the attached link video and it works very well. I had some very thin weak fuselage components to cover and strengthen. I used 50 Gram weight fibre glass, Deluxe Models Laminating Resin thinned down using Isopropyl Alcohol seems to work a treat. **LINK** Steve B
  15. Using my networked drive method you don't have to copy files to multiple D Drives everyone's files are held in one location. When setting up the central drive it will show up in your file explorer as a letter or a name. Once everyone has mapped the new drive to their device and given permission to read and write files it's a simple task then to drag and drop files or copy and paste files from anything SD Cards, Disks , camera's etc. Hope this makes sense Regards Steve B
  16. I have a network enabled hard drive, they are sub £100 now for 1TB or even 2TB at PCworld, Tesco etc. I plug mine into my Wi-Fi Router and put all of my Documents, PDFs, Photo's Video's etc. on the drive . I can access the files from my PC, Laptop, Tablet and Phone from anywhere and works a treat. Steve B
  17. English Electric Lightning and Hawker Hunter like the old Flair kits for 40 size moitors
  18. At the moment you could reprogram the LBT Rx to the same firmware as your other RXs. I have been informed recently (but can't verify) that after June of this year there will be a firmware block on all new Rxs which will not allow you to go back to the EU standard firmware, which means new Rxs will be only operable on LBT standard firmware.
  19. Hi Unfortunately yes, the TX and Rx have to have compatible firmware. I don't know if using an external plug in RF module may be a work around. It's not a difficult job to change the firmware on the TX or RX. Feedback from the LBT firmware seems positive.
  20. Excellent piece of work, many thanks for this. Just what the Taranis Users have been waiting for. Steve B
  21. I've been on the waiting list for the best part of a year, I've not had any communication for several months so have given up hope I'll get one. Steve B
  22. I bought an NGH 25cc Petrol engine which was difficult to start and wouldn't run properly. Just Engines diagnosed the timing was out 12 Deg since timing has been reset it runs and starts nicely. I purchased a timing set up kit and now check every engine before running for first time. Might be worth checking timing is set I believe 28Deg before TDC
  23. I'm not a big fan of multibolt fitting so have modified my DLE30 with one of these, not yet tested yet though **LINK** Steve B
