  1. Just look at the ads on the right of this column!
  2. The Hurricane & the Spitfire over flew Bloobirds flying site at Dover at lowish level today. I was unable to fully appreciate the sight as I was flying. I was looking north west when I heard the mighty Merlins approaching from the south, I made a rapid descent to v low level! I do wonder if my 1.8m orange Yak was seen by them.
  3. I use a "normal" starter powered by a 3S, 2200MaH lipo. It starts a 91 four stroke with no problems & lasts for weeks between charges Tony
  4. If you are in the far south east you would do well to visit both the Battle of Britain & the Manston History Museums, both at what used to be RAF Manston. The Southern Model Show will be held at Headcorn Airfield, where there is a museum too, on 9/10 Sept. Tony
  5. Most of my Bangood items appear to come from the Seychelles!
  6. You are lucky. I tried the mobile number twice this afternoon, 1st time it eventually rang out & the 2nd it was apparently switched off. Impressed I am not.
  7. Perhaps the pump diaphragm has dried out & become too stiff to pump. It is an easy matter to take the diaphragm out & soak it in petrol for 10 minutes, you may see a remarkable improvement after refitting! There is little scope for adjusting the timing, no more than 3-4mm on mine.
  8. I, too, was there today & enjoyed a well organised& supported day. I second BVC's sentiments re the flying site, almost worth the 90 mile round trip from my club's 45m mown circle. I thought the Swordfish & the Stuka stood out for their rarity. I regret not being able to stay for the fireworks etc. Many thanks for all your hard work.
  9. I built a Veron Sopwith 11/2 Strutter in Singapore in 1973. In 1974 it travelled to & was flown in Scotland, 1978 saw it taken to Cyprus where it enjoyed the sunshine. In 1981 it was taken to Anglesey where it was given away when I moved on again. Probably the most travelled Sopwith!
  10. I bought a very basic, 4 channel Radiolink set from Giant Cod years ago. It gave me many hours of simple use & for £15 was amazing value.
  11. Yes, but no way to combine the flaps as ailerons that I can find in the manual, unlike the Eclipse which I have enjoyed for several years.
  12. The F8 allows 4 servo camber changes but I want to be able to use the flaps in conjunction with the ailerons ie strip ailerons. I will be very disappointed if I have made a backwards step. Tony
  13. I have recently replaced my Hitec Eclipse 7 with a Flash 8. I bought the Eclipse because it offered many glider options including the facility to have flaps acting as ailerons. I expected the F8 to have this facility too but am unable to determine how to achieve this function, unlike on the Eclipse where it was specifically offered. Is anyone able to help, please? Tony
  14. If you add any item to your trolley/basket, you will be able to see a postage cost. The item can be removed if the postage is too much - nothing lost!
  15. There is a real example in the RAF Manston History Museum, please note this is not the BoB Museum. Tony
  16. I have used only Pro Synth for at least 3 years, as have most of my colleagues, without any issues. It must be the sea air at Dover!
  17. There is a tow attachment./release specifically for the WOT 4 XL available .
  18. I am a long term subscriber but despite 3 telephone calls I am still waiting for my November mag. Tony Scott
  19. Thanks Steve. I, too, found the RCG build blog & it was the concerns raised about the accuracy of the plan which prompted me to post here. I cannot find the wing build in the other blog. I built the semi-scale version (RC1181) in 1980, powered by a Fox 49 it flew beautifully. I may just scale up that plan by 15%. I came back to flying several years ago after a long break & am still surprised at the increased engine size commonly used. After all engines are all more powerful than they were 30 years ago. Thanks again Tony
  20. I am considering an 81" span Z526 from the Traplet plan & laser cut kit for my winter project. Has any one any knowledge or experience of this model please?
  21. A beautiful day at Dover, the sun came out, the temperature was such that I had to take my jacket off & the wind was very light. More members turned out than I have seen all season - looking forward to tomorrow.
  22. I've managed to go to the field without a Tx But, so far, I don't think I've managed to come home without one! Mind you,...there is a first time for everything! BEB It was for me, I hope it will be the last!!
  23. But this is not the AoA, it is the incidence angle. AoA is that between the mean aerodynamic chord and the airflow.
