Wait, chat to a club(and I would always recommend joining a club even if you plan on flying alone as well, see what they fly and also what radio gear they use. I bought a Bixler 2 then joined a club(Gateshead) and for my first half dozen or so flights used their club trainer as they knew it and had it set up ready to go. -

Hi Neil, There is a club over by you in Washington but we have this year had a couple of the guys come over to Gateshead MFC as I understand their field has problems with trees causing difficult wind conditions. Steve Mc -
Bixler 2

Hi Graham, I too started with the Bixler 2. And still love it. I got a hobbyking FW190 Xmas last but am nowhere near yet being good enough to fly despite being very confident with the Bixy. So, what about a Wot 4 foam E. I am flying this as my second model and think its a great step up from the Bixy. It flies with more authority than the Bixy but will still allow mistakes without biting back too much like a warbird would. No doubt others will suggest other models as a seconf but the Wot 4 works for me. Steve

Went out to the garage last night to effect repairs and immediately found out why it was handling so horribly. Despite thinking I had checked everything(twice) the wing wasn't screwed down properly and was giving about 3/4" lift at the rear. Guess I'm lucky to have got off so lightly. Anyway prop shaft replaced, u/c glued back in and away I went this morning. Completely different animal. Flew great. However when I landed it the u/c popped off again. Going to try dowels and bands next!!! Thanks for all the advice guys enjoying it now

After flying my Bixler2 for several months now and feeling quite confident with it I finally decided today to take out my Wot4 and maiden it. Although I managed to get it safely up and down several times it was horribly out of trim and I felt like I was fighting it all the time. Anyway I decided after a couple of very short flights that enough was enough and I reverted back to the Bixy to relax and calm down. All was going fine until SWMBO and youngest son turned up at the field and wanted to see it fly(having seen it sat in the garage for over a year!!!). Got it up but I still wasn't happy with it and decided to land it and call it a day. Typical....managed to pan it in quite heavy Ripped off the undercarriage and bent the prop shaft about 90deg(but oddly never broke the prop) Anyway the repairs are quite straight forward but whilst I'm at it I fancy taking the stickers off and painting it. Whats the easiest way to paint it and what paint do I use on the foam? Thanks Steve Mc

Don't get me wrong the Radian may be better, I've never flown one, but I do love the Bixler. Edited By Steve McIntosh on 14/05/2014 21:00:55

I was given a Wot 4 Foam E as a Xmas present last year as a first model. The idea being that I could dumb down the rates as a new flyer but the aircraft could be improved as I did. I then bottled it and bought a Bixler 2 which I can now fly fairly competently(At least now I think I am controlling the aircraft rather than just reacting to where it goes). I have found it ideal to learn on and am thoroughly enjoying it. Had it out this morning and got just over 25mins out of the first battery and still had 31%left in it. You can whizz around and then close the throttle and cruise. Fantastic Managed my first loop this morning as well!!!!!!!!!!!!

Got an email this morning apparently I sold a Postman pat for £730.07!!! Funny how there is nothing in my account when I log in through what I know to be a safe route

Could be tempted -
I am also learning on a Bixler 2 and think its fantastic. Whats nearly as satisfying as that first flight is when you eventually feel like you are controlling the plane not just reacting to what its doing.

This is nothing more than a speculative invoice. If its from a private company then ignore it. A private company/individual cannot fine another person/company. They can only take you to small claims court to recover lost earnings which as its a "free" car park they cannot prove. If its Police/Council then I'm afraid you have to pay up. They will threaten with all sorts of nasties, bailiffs, bad credit entries etc. But fear not just ignore it. Do not reply to any letters as then you are entering into negotiations.
