  1. Took 2 calls (Well chats) to get my order separated, told me it couldn't be done initially in spite of it being on their website. And once split you can only use 1 per order, not good. I'll never buy them again, well not until you get a code for each single one you buy and can combine them at checkout. Andy
  2. I'm chairman of the Worcester Model Aero Club and we are looking for new members. Dave - email on its way. Andy
  3. I always sand ply to remove any mold release that may be present. White glue or contact doesn't seem to make much difference. Andy
  4. Its A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year / Happy Holidays *delete as appropriate from me. Andy
  5. ChrisB I'd just like to raise a question about numbers, I think we may be in the minority - look at the ease at which toy shops sell to the mass market, we may well be the 1% who do things properly. I think the BMFA have about 36000 members these days, that represents a very low number compare to those that have access to MR's. Be interesting to know for sure. Andy
  6. I've given up on gluing canopies having had mixed success, what I use now are M3 threaded inserts and screw them on. Andy
  7. Have you searched these forums to see if anyone else has had problems? Andy
  8. One for all you Bob Symes fans. I have this and it takes me back. Andy
  9. I'm in. I'll have a go anyway. Andy
  10. The fuz in this kit was OK, even after all these years, maybe it did warp the right way and it made it straight. Just realised I don't have any photos of the complete model, Martyn may have some flying shots from Montford Bridge. Gareth have you looked on the UKCAA website Resources page - here you will find links to plans for a lot of the old stuff. PS one of the best models I've ever flown. 11. I thought that when writing OP Bert, was trying not to break cover, Its a BTE Reaction 54. The recommended retracts are Robart 500s but looking for options. Andy Edited By Andy Green on 10/11/2015 11:12:16
  12. As per title looking for a recommendation for trike retracts to suit a 17lb model, Hobby King have some electric ones but the reviews aren't good. I don't have the model yet, just trying to price things up. Andy
  13. Hi Jon Got my mug from here. Andy
  14. Thanks ED, Its is on the list - as the saying goes a Scale model is never finished, it just gets heavier. Not had a problem with overheating up til now, but just lucky I guess. Andy
  15. Have you looked at the DB Sport and Scale website - they do kits and plan packs. All excellent quality. Andy
  16. Hi Peter, I use 5mm carbon as you suggest. I take a length of threaded rod with about 2" inside the carbon with the end roughed up a bit and secured with JB Weld. I make sure the glue has run down the tube. I seal the end with some heat shrink to tidy it up and it helps to centralise the rod in the tube. Andy
  17. Look again Andy - its all stainless no churches were harmed in the making of this model . Its a bracket I had made to bring as much mass forward as I could.
  18. I have a 1/4 scale Pup, with a Saito 180. I run a 20*6 prop on 5% ProSynth. The Saito is a bit of a beast, but I have found that converting it to spark (Note: Spark ignition but still on glow fuel) has tamed it for starting, but I'm guessing with a fixed timing position has improved fuel economy too. Andy
  19. I've still to fly mine - its already. Barry also did my wings. Nice job too. Andy
  20. Nice job Martyn. Hope the maiden goes well. Andy
  21. I do the Same as Frank, use velcro pads so I know the position, but strap it with those in cymaz's post. Andy
  22. Just finishing off a plan built Limbo Dancer for a bit of fun, then the decks are cleared for my next couple of builds. Rather taken with the SIG Four Star a fellow flyer was campaigning this year I'm building from the plan a Venture 60 - a bigger version, and the Tony Nijhuis Vampire kit. Of course the best laid plans of mice and men mean that this could change at any time. Andy
