Hello Sorry if this is already covered somewhere: What is the position for learners? I.e. first time fliers, people on buddy leads, or not on buddy leads or what not. Obvs they' won't have an A cert, do they need to do an online thingy first? Will there be a BMFA cert to cover this? -
You say "highlighted" I say "automatically weathered" that way I can convince myself I meant to do it that way.

Hello It's been a while since I used the silver solarfilm, but I don't recall it being all that hard. I think I used a covering iron - this probably gives better control. Marking is usually due to over heating it. Ply/hardwood is always much harder to get solarfilm to stick to regardless of the colour. Sometimes it's easier to get it to stick down if you heat it up in place and then rub it down with a soft cloth. The hard surface of the wood and the hard surface of the iron don't comply enough to get good contact/adhesion.

Crikey that too. Weird mixture of pre-school and a reactionary protest group.

I can just about cope that my kids primary school does this....

Posted by Chris Walby on 20/07/2019 22:07:05: How many of us are guilty (yes me as well) of having an engine that is not in a model? Just sitting in a draw waiting for the right plane. nothing at all wrong with that and quite understandable when supply is uncertain to say the least. If I want a 30 size glow motor now, the only surefire supply I have is my own. They can't be bought new and finding decent second hand is hit and miss. I'm not in the business of draining and then hoarding supplier's stock of spares, but if an opportunity arises to acquire spare for engines I run which I know are our of production, and if I have the readies, I take it. After all when shops sell up stock someone has to buy it or it ends up in a skip Edited By will -0 on 21/07/2019 08:55:52

Soak in water usually works for me. Depends how deep it goes!

Those are clips which go over the end of the pin on the clevis to stop it opening. They slide on sideways into the small grove in the pin. Belt and braces. Edited By will -0 on 11/07/2019 13:44:01 Edited By will -0 on 11/07/2019 13:44:59 -

Do let us know what works, especially if it turns out to be the lettuce leaf

Too right - aluminium is the most abundant metal on the earth **LINK**

Posted by Frank Skilbeck on 28/06/2019 08:54:49: I think I'm part of the problem, it must be over 10 years since I bought a new engine from a retailer, Me too, though not 10 years I think maybe 5% of my collection was bought new. Most recently a saito30 as I heard they were going out of production and didn't want to miss the boat. The rest are second hand, though many are "new" and others I have refurbished (sometimes with parts bought new). I don't think me buying a few extra engines from anyone is going to make a jot of difference to the global picture.

balsaloc as in the white glue stuff? I thini it's PVA based in which case soaking it in water should soften it/disolve it

I reckon that should live on shouldn't it?
