  1. Almost on topic but...... I've just started to learn Aboriginee, the first word I've learned is.... Boo, which means, To come back. I know that's right too, just try throwing an ordinary meringue !!!!!
  2. That's very neat work Chris! I'm always in awe of anyone who can solder that neatly. I would think it would be fairly easy to get a case made up by 3D printing?
  3. Still following too Chris! Not quite so hot here but just can't work up the enthusiasm to get in the workshop!
  4. Glad I could be of assistance Jason. That looks lovely. I have had so much flight time with mine now.
  5. Nessun Dorma when sung by Luciano Pavarotti Isn't that a well known Japanese Camper Van???
  6. They look the business Chris! They will be hypnotic when they're spinning
  7. Here's mine, for today at least! Brown shoes don't make it.. Frank Zappa Those little golden birdies... Capt. Beefheart Jilted John... Jilted John
  8. Following too. Earlier in the year I bought the 3D printed electric glider that aerofred does. I've yet to build it but have watched the videos so your build blog will be of great interest.
  9. Ian flying by using his. Thought Wave Attenuation Transmitter hat.
  10. We have 2, one who flies and regularly places highly in national and international glider events and one who is a member on a technicality, her young son is a member and we don't charge juniors to join. He is our only junior and to avoid us having to have a child protection officer on the committee his mum joined the club and always accompanies him to the patch.
  11. Had a great morning on Sunday at first, tearing up the local airspace with my old and very battered Teksumo and indulging my hooligan side, then onto a small balsa 3D lightweight I recently built. First 2 launches it throws the prop. So... 3rd flight I fit 2 O rings onto the prop saver and launch with less power. It sags to the ground and breaks the prop!!!!! By now I've run out of O rings!  Some days you just can't win! Edited By Andy G. on 28/06/2018 07:57:53
  12. It's going to be tricky covering those wheels Chris! I can forsee a few burnt fingertips and a lot o swearing! Andy. First Aid control.
  13. Posted by David Mellor on 21/06/2018 11:12:33: Interestingly, a form of cyanoacrylate (N-butyl-2 cyanoacrylate) is used in surgery to stem otherwise uncontrollable bleeding in thoracic areas. Mainly, it is very successful. If I remember correctly superglue was originally used heavily by combat troops in Vietnam to stem bleeding and to minimise further damage in battlefield injuries
  14. Very impressive, waiting and watching on this one!
  15. I used to get cold calls from Call Guardian, ( I now have a call blocker device integral with the phone ). I used to point the irony of getting a cold call about a service that would allegedly stop cold calls! I too used to like to keep them talking as long as possible to waste their time. Then report them to the ICO. Information Commissioners Office.
  16. I believe that a Cox Baby Bee type 0.49 puts out somewhere around 40 Watts, so that's a good starting point. For a timer take a look at Dens Models. He does a range of bespoke electronic timers.
  17. Hi Chris.. let me add my condolences to the list. As everyone has said at least you and anyone else weren't hurt. As annoying as it is the car is just metal and not flesh and blood. I guess la grotte must be located on the only hill in Belgium??
  18. Posted by john stones 1 on 10/05/2018 13:39:46: Listen some Beefheart...Electricity Great musical choice John! Regularly gets played when I'm in the workshop, modeling or charging..
  19. Thought I ought to do a small update on this project. In truth, this being a sort of spring/summer build project and having a few other builds on the go simultaneously progress hasn't been stunning. finally got all the servos and wiring into the wing and got everything set up there, took a while to figure out the programming for the flaps on my Hitec TX. But got there in the end with the help of a fellow club member. Blew a couple of coats of ''High Build' automotive primer onto the fuselage ready for some rubbing down. We have our club's annual Scale competition coming up in July it would be nice to get the beast in the air before then. I mentioned the full size restoration of Auringey Air's BNM2 in an earlier post, and I did manage to get along to the event. This aircraft .. G-AVCN... was in fact the 3rd production Islander to be built, and served with Auringey before being exported to south America where it ended it's days in Honduras ( I believe) . By the time it was purchased and brought back to the Isle of Wight it had suffered somewhat from it's days in open storage but the volunteers of BNAPS ( Britten Norman Aircraft Preservation Society) have done some outstanding work on the airframe. I've posted a few pics from their open day, the A/C is being restored in an old barn and therefore the lighting and conditions for photography aren't great, but hopefully you will get an impression of the work. I took my part completed BN2 along and showed it off to a few of the volunteers who were very interested. Oh.. and word had got out that their open day coincided with my birthday, and they had made me a birthday cake! Double Whammy day out!.. BNAPS Open day.
