Has IC engines got a future anymore ?
john stones 1 - Moderator replied to flying daddy's topic in All Things Model Flying
Not a dig at anyone, just my view on petrol. Does it smell ? Yep, stinks n makes your head spin, then again so does diesel, fuel proofer, dope, epoxy, cyano etc, etc. It's a fire risk ? Yep, no doubt there, but so is glow/diesel fuel, fuel proofer, most of the gubbins we buy and use to build, same with your models, and not to mention lipos that need to be stored in nuclear bunkers to avoid armageddon. ☠️ Noisy things though, unless you shell out for a decent silencer. -
Has IC engines got a future anymore ?
john stones 1 - Moderator replied to flying daddy's topic in All Things Model Flying
Sad news, had nothing but good service from JE, I wish them well in whatever the future brings. Is I.C dead ? Nope, and even those not flying it should pray that remains the case, if it goes, numbers will drop, there'll be less of a market choice to offer and takings will lessen, we're losing shops now, that's a threat we don't need. -
Incase you didn't know Derek there are some threads in here, may be of use. https://forums.modelflying.co.uk/index.php?/search/&q=flair stearman&quick=1

john stones 1 - Moderator replied to martin collins 1's topic in Chit-chat
Some flights got cancelled and some delays experienced, it that big a deal ? Not really read about it, but hopefully no one got injured or worse. Be wildfires/ floods maybe a Volcano erupting and delays on major roads etc, etc. -

Hi-View models kits.
john stones 1 - Moderator replied to Neil Oakland's topic in Why Not Say Hello....
If you're looking for something to build Neil, post what type you fancy and the size and I'm sure you'll get plenty feedback. -
A lot of consulting was done with us all to set up how the pages look, we had a lot of input, adds just don't register on me Ron, I don't use add blockers either. Compared to the constant barrge FB subjects us to, this place is heaven.

I don't notice adds either, content in posts I do, been many instances when forum users views have won the day, it cant be all take, it is a business when alls said and done and the times ain't easy.

john stones 1 - Moderator replied to Roger Bayley's topic in Why Not Say Hello....
Not sure Roger is intending fitting flaps, looks to be describing hinging hinges maybe, also may be terming aileron/elevator as flaps, coz they flap, everyone here knows the correct term is "Waggly bits".
