  1. I don't remember where the canopy came from. The PSSA mass build Sabre canopy is from Vortex Vacforms and may work for your model as they are similar sizes I believe. My avatar photo is our prototype Sabre. Flies in 12mph (just with the flaps drooped) and 40+mph.
  2. Looking good Mike, The Ron Collins Sabre flies very well, I built one back in the early 1990's. If I remember correctly my wing was skinned with mahogany veneer as that is all I had at the time. Bring it along to the Orme and join in with the other Sabres - the more the merrier as far as I am concerned! Martin.
  3. Phil, I have added the CG change, with drop tanks, to the "Gotcha" thread. Martin.
  4. All, For those of you who plan to fit drop tanks, Phil Cooke has noted that they move the CG backward, on his model, by around 8mm. He thinks he needs to add weight to the nose of each tank to maintain the model CG with tanks on, or off. Please double check your model CG with tanks on, and off. Martin.
  5. Nice work Phil, I reckon even I might be able to see that model in the air! There is a going to be a need for sunglasses when flying that! As to judging the mass build, we could always get all the Sabre pilots present to vote for the winners of each category- but not their own. One model equals one vote, not sure about those idiots that will be bringing three Sabres (I'm guilty as charged!).
  6. To be fair, the aerobat does have a sticker saying "Pilot" inside the cockpit! ?

  8. Phil, I'm guessing you expect to have some yellow paint left over from the Sabre. Martin.
  9. It"s coming along very nicely. Well done modifying the model to actually look like a Fury.
  10. Steve/Danny, Pritt stick glue is a great way to hold the tail planes on. Highly recommended as very little is required. Martin.
  11. Mike, Andy Meade used magnets to hold the undercarriage onto his large JU87. They should work for some small bombs!
  12. Hello Timo, I am following this thread. I like the slot in the fuselage sides for the fuselage formers! Looking forward to building a PSS version. Regards, Martin.
  13. I built my first CNC machine by hand from MDF, then used the machine to make more accurate parts for itself!
  14. The difficult bit is the software to convert the drawing into a format that can drive the CNC machine. I use Vectric Aspire, which allows me to import most pdf files and work with them. It is expensive but they also do a cheaper 2d version of the software. It will allow you to output the drawing via the correct "post processor" direct to the machine. Martin.
  15. My flying buddy is currently drawing up a PSS plan for a Me1106. the original design was very, very unstable in roll, so the wingspan and chord has been increased slightly. It has not yet flown.
  16. Hello Timo, Surprisingly, a thin wing section is not a requirement for a PSS model. The past two mass builds (Hawker hurricane and NA Sabre) have use Eppler 374 and they soar rather well. Admittedly we usually fly in good lift, the Sabre has flown (just) in 12mph winds on the Great Orme up to 45mph+ on the Lleyn Peninsular. Here is a link to the current PSS mass build on this forum: PSSA Mass Build 2020 - North American F-86 Sabre | Model Flying PM Sent. Martin.
  17. Hello Timo, I like your family of 109's, and the Yokosuka Ohka. I think these would be good candidates for slope soaring as unpowered PSS models. Would you be willing to part with a copy of the various plans? Martin.
  18. And now for something completely different! The TF-86:  Edited By Martin Gay on 12/11/2020 11:14:44
  19. Come on Ade, you need to get building one of these!
