  1. Hi Alex   You dont want much! drawing you cool plans and different patterns and putting it on here would take a long time. What I suggest you do is click on the Albums tag above and look at all the planes on there. There are thousands of photos and Im sure you will find one you like. Look in the model aircraft mags and even on the net. I'm you will find something wicked!   Al

    Suspect !!

There is another one I got the other day. I was browsing some informatiom and all of a sudden there was lots of flashing downloading stuff and a flashing sign " your computer is under attack from a virus" warning. It also threw up the "My Computer" (An internet copy) showing what files were being corrupted. It also throws up a "Click here" to download anti virus software requiring your payment details of course! Its a scam. If this ever happens to you then dont panic. Then just close all windows and carry on browsing your normal stuff.   Al
  3. These are brilliant. My son bought one of these a few weeks ago. As commented above - I also thought the 4 site was good - I think this one is better.   Short clip of us having fun with ours last night
  4. Hi Terry   My favourite as a all rounder model is the RC Factory Flash Click Here to have a look. I have quite a few models of all shapes and sizes but this ones my favourite and good old faithful when all else fails!   Al
  5. Hi Craig   I suppose if it was me I would cut the hinges at both joints and trim them flush. Sort out the problem areas and add new hinges next to them.   Al
  6. Nice idea Steve.   I tend to just frame the compact camera with my first fingers and thumbs and l leave a gap of about an inch between finger tips on top of the camera. I just look above the camera when filming - following the model between the finger tips. Seems to work for me.   Al
  7. Hi Alan   I was setting up a new heli last night on my new DX8. I have hit the same problem with the gyro. Usually a breeze on the DX7. I will keep you posted when I have time to sort it out!   Al
  8. It is nice! Pricey though! I would normally expect retracts included not just ready for the money.   However I would think Danny would sell his soul for this one!Edited By Alan B on 27/01/2011 11:13:58
  9. Hi Paul   Just giving thoughts to your comments.  So I thought I would give it a try. The receivers were bound as above in my original post to one model memory.   I have tried the receivers in turn separatly  with a servo plugged in each simulating 3 seperate aircraft.  I have used    1x spektrum AR7000   1x Spektrum AR500   1x HK Orange DSM2.   Alternating between receivers each one works normally on the same TX model memory.   Any thoughts?   Al
  10. I agree with the Lazy bit.  I have been using spektrum gear for about 3 years now and I still haven't read the manual fully!
  11. If you have crashed a few times Cal then it sounds like a bent main shaft to me.  Take it out and roll it across a piece of glass or across a surface you know that is perfectly flat.  That will tell you if it is bent or not.  The slightest warp in a main shaft will cause bad vibration.   Al
  12.  Hi I don’t know if this has ever been mentioned before on the forum or has ever happened to anyone. Last night we were having our indoor meet. To cut a long story short a club member was having problems with his little Parkzone Suhkoi SU 26. So I suggested we did a rebind of the model. We went through the normal binding process and the receiver light went solid. When I waggled the sticks “nothing” A few seconds later the Suhkoi suddenly burst into life. The prop started and my friend grabbed his model as it shot towards him. The prop then stopped and then the control surfaces moved for a few seconds. He unplugged the battery and we thought we would try the rebind process again. He plugged in the battery again and this time the RX light was solid – a few seconds later as he was holding it, it burst into life again. I was holding the TX (a DX7) and he looked at me. I said “ I’m not controlling it”   It’s as though somebody else is! I looked along the flight line and there was one old boy and his son ready to take off with his home made model. Nobody else was using there TXs or had them switched on at the time. I went over to him and politely asked if I could just take a quick look at his DX6i. When I waggled the sticks on his not only did his model respond - but so did the sukhoi. BOTH MODELS WERE BOUND TO HIS TRANSMITTER! I know from old that this guy has had a few problems with his model and is always fiddling about with it. By pure fluke and coincidence it transpired that he had just rebound his model. What must have happened was that as he turned his receiver on to bind it, we turned ours on at the same time but he turned his TX on first and our model bound to his transmitter. The movement we had in our model was him doing his pre flight checks! Once he had turned off his model we then rebound the suhkoi as per normal and everything was fine. To confirm the fluke event I bound 2 of my spekrum RXs at the same time and  2 Hong kong orange  RXs to my DX7 this morning. All working on one model memory at the same time! Now the thing is. This was only a little micro suhkoi bound to somebody else’s transmitter. If that had been out in the field with a Large powerful electric plane with a large prop there could have been a very bad accident! So I would suggest as a matter of course that if you do need to re bind your model with other flyers around then check that nobody else is doing the same thing at the same time! The chances of this happening would probably be a million to one – but it can happen when you least expect it!  I don’t know whether it would happen with other 2.4 systems but it certainly happens with spectrum! On the fun side – if you were short of model memory you could bind similar models on to one model memory! I wouldn’t go there though! AL
  13. Nice one Scott!   the photos dont show it Justice!  800 watts at that weight it must shift!     Watched a program on the history channel on this plane - fascinating!   In its short flight history at the end of WWII it actually killed more of its pilots and ground crew trying to get it airborne than any of its allied  targets!
  14. Hi Phil   I use these type of mounts.  Would this make life easier for you?   CLICK HERE   Al
  15. Its  Topgun park Flite    distributed by CML   No Primers.  Just straight from the tube.  I think it looks great too!  really impressed with the result.   Al
  16. Here you go David,  before (bad Hangar rash)  and after.  Remember that it has been brush painted and not sprayed.  The photos are taken with an iphone - so not brilliant.   KR  Al

  22. HI David - below is a previous answer to a similar post.     I have bought a lot of different colours from our local "home bargain" Store.  They are large 120 ml tube water based Artist Acrylic paint  - Brand name  "Masterpiece"  they sell them for 99p a tube.   They didn't have any black but I picked up a tube of black in a " The Works"  store in town.  Seems  most towns have a Works Store. Their stuff is called  "Crawford & Black" artist paint.  More pricey at £2.99 a tube or 2 for £5 butt they are bigger at 200 ml.   My Acromaster was getting a little sruffy so I used these acrylics to tart it up.  Lovely result and finish and it was brushed on!  The Acromaster is a EPO type foam I think. Anyway you got me thinking on the Depron.   I have just tried the above paints on some Depron Foam - just brushed it on - Very impressive finish.   Even using the above stuff - thinned down with water, you should be able to airbrush it. Just clean with water.  Since the above post I have repainted my tatty BAE Hawk foamie. Only brushed painted it straight from the tube and the result is brilliant-it looks like new again.  The best thing is it only cost me about 50p  I have used/tested it on various foams now and the results are good.  Well worth a look at.   Al
  23. Hi Geoff   As BEB & Steve has commented.  You could also use eg these  CLICK HERE  next day delivery (Normally!)  if you didn't want to wait for Hong Kong delivery   eg Hobby King.  You do not need to pay Art Techs silly prices!  They are 15c rating but should be ok for cruising around.   Al
  24. Hi Dave   I have just purchased the DX 8 but not had a real play with it yet.  On reading the instructions ref the charging light.  I think the light will only turn off if you are using an optional Lipo battery.   Ref the voltage drop I would say thats about normal.  On talking to the horizon rep at the nats I asked why they are only using a 4 cell battery in the TX.  His answer was that with modern 2.4 technology a 4 cell pack is all that is needed and is more than adequate.   Al
