  1. For a change I wanted a nice simple glider for some relaxing flying. I also wanted it because I have a huge wheat field right in front of the house and a quick flight once in a while in one of those rare gaps we get would be nice. I chose the Orion-E from The Vintage Model Company.Quick and simple to build and it flies like a dream
  2. And don't even mention Snoopy!!!! Sorry Graham!
  3. "Leeccy wrote: "anyone who covers a funfighter in glossy film in a completely hideous colour scheme, without paying even the slightest attention to what it is, should be subject to a drumhead court martial, have their covering iron broken over the officer's knee and be ceremonially drummed out of the Brownies."" I have complete and total disdain for anyone who builds a scale model and then does not use a scale colour scheme.
  4. WE had an adopted mongrel,a lovely dog but NOT tiny. She decided that the only place to be was on my lap in the evening. She was so determined about this that she would happily lie there all evening with my typewriter on her back while I typed.
  5. There is an April 2014 RCM&E on Ebay at the moment
  6. I once had a lift home from Cornwall to Waterbeach in an Avro Anson, On landing the pilot touched down on the grass short of the tarmac and gave huge bounce onto the runway. As we climbed out the Navigator said to the pilot "Which landing shall I log sir?"
  7. The trouble seems to be that NOTHING is wrong or unacceptable if even one person does it. The ONLY thing that is "wrong" is to disapprove of it or to make a joke about it.
  8. Maybe we should only refer to them as "A human being......" No, that would upset any aliens reading the thread!!!! Anyway, I am not sure that some people would qualify as human these days.
  9. Some us are thinking of tomorrow morning about 11 am
  10. I am glad that you liked it. I recently bought(!!!!???) the Sarik kit and converted it to electric. Hopefully that will be in RCM&E. The weather is diabolical. I have a glider kit(!!!) ready to test fly. If only the rain would lay off for a few days they could harvest the field right in front of my house and I could step out side in the early morning and test fly it. Picture shot from my bedroom window at about 10pm. last year
  11. Thank you all for you wishes, much appreciated. I am OK if I take it easy....it is mostly old age galloping upon me.
  12. Hi KC I am grateful that you have offered to do that I had thought of copying my article but I am not too good at the moment. A lot of stress and extremely tired and just not up to it. I just could not face it.
  13. I saw that Video.I still quote the verdict after the flight...and it was a howling gale. The smoke in the back ground was blowing horizontally straight from the chimney
  14. Well The next is NOT exciting, It is an electric conversion of the Dick Schumaker Little Ship. These days I just can't raise the energy, strength or interest to start drawing and creating a new design. So don't hold your breath 'cos I don't have a a lot of breath left
  15. I recently watched US carrier fighters taking off from Carriers. They used vast amounts of right rudder as they started their take off runs.
  16. KC is another follower of my great belief in the KISS principle!
  17. One point to notice. My wings are set at zero degrees incidence so in fact it does not give lift unless it is fractionally nose high. I keep telling people to read Kermode's "Flight Without Formulae"
  18. A Form 500 entry on a Shackleton: "Mouse in aircraft." Cleared with entry "Trap set. Aircraft serviceable to fly"
