  1. Is this forum a short Guide to Brownie points? Personally I think it's six of one half a dozen of the other. Brownie points to the first to spot the humour.
  2. Don't forget the Norman French! Although to be fair, Norman French was a very nice guy I used to fly with many years ago. 🤣
  3. The SWIMBO question every aeromodeler dreads. "Just how many models do you have". Closely followed by. "How much did that cost?".
  4. This model is small, that model is far away, credits to Father Ted.
  5. Three phrases a husband should practice regularly to ensure married harmony: "Yes dear" "That would be my fault dear" "My goodness, that's a bargain". Covers 99% of situations.
  6. Don't change user set program. The firmware in 4 button chargers seems pretty standard so try this. Turn on charger Will probably display " Program select Lithium Battery". If another battery type is shown press Stop/Type button to cycle to Lithium or LiXX Press Enter button, display will change to show an Li battery type and function (charge, discharge, storage etc.) Using Dec or Inc buttons cycle through the charge options until "Charge" is displayed. Press Enter button Battery type on display should flash, use Inc or Dec buttons to select LiIon Press Enter button Lithium battery type should now stop flashing and the current should flash. Using the Inc or Dec buttons select 2.0 A (or other required charging current) Press Enter button Number of cells should now flash. Using Inc or Dec buttons select 2s. Press Enter button. Connect battery Press and hold enter button to start charging.
  7. If you can post a picture Ernie it might help.
  8. According to the manual it should charge Lipo, Life and LiIon battery types.
  9. "Other brands are available" as the BBC would say.
  10. Not sure the moderators would appreciate you posting pictures of you dismantling a beaver's rear end 🤣
  11. If it's beyond repair, here's a suggestion:
  12. At least one local National Trust property has had charging points for a number of years. They were 7 Kw chargers and were free to use. Then the price of electricity (and presumably the number of EVs using them) increased and they were "unavailable". I think they may have been removed a while ago, presumably they were costing too much to run.
  13. Before you fly it check that the motor mount grub screws are both present and done up tightly. A fellow club member maidened his and after about 30 seconds the motor stopped. After a dead stick landing we checked the motor and found that it was free to rotate on the mount and it wound up the connecting leads all the way back to the ESC and then ripped one out of the motor. New motor and possibly new ESC required, not happy.
  14. I believe that Spektrum quote a range of about 30 metres withe the transmitter in reduced power mode. A while ago I did range checks on a number of my Spektrum receivers, the results were interesting. The AR620 would achieve 30 metres but if you turned to face away from the model reception was lost. The AR600 with 2 external antennae was slightly better. The AR610 which has two external antennae, plus an amplifier on one of them, easily achieved 30 metres and you could turn away from the model without losing contact.
  15. I want to die peacefully in my sleep like my father, not screaming in fear like the passengers on his bus!
  16. Lots of stuff seems to be on backorder with an eta of the end of October, so perhaps they plan to have a uk warehouse operational by then.
  17. ........or bomb disposal, as it says on my son's t-shirt
