Come on Jon, I am sure you can help me to find a good lubricant if I do go that way, like Castor oil,,,😅 I am not short of Four strokes at the moment, 20 if I can count properly all but one in a plane all ready to fly, that does include, 1 x 80 3x 90's and 2 x 100's so don't put me down for a Laser.🤐 I have put the .90 up for sale, no one wants it, that's why I suggested turning it into a petrol engine. I am not new ( I do know it all 😄) to making con rods my Saito FG-30 went, although it was on 5€ synthetic Motul 710, maybe what it needed was a drop of Castor,,,🤩

  3. Mattyb how on earth do you go from £450 to £850+ for a rexel £45 ignition system saito £20 plug and a £20 zama carburettor( Retail prices ) and a couple of bits of aluminium ?.
  4. Right-handed drill, do you mean a round bit of steel and a blowlamp and burn your hole out ?.

They are down in power but over here the methanol is now at 43€ for 5 litres and an exorbitant amount to deliver it as it's an explosive against less as 98° petrol and 3% 'expensive' oil comes out at less than 10€ the same 5 litres, my Saito FA-120 will empty my 2l fuel reserve in my field box in an afternoon, against a 20cc will take a couple of weeks flying, not forgetting that over here some of us fly 3/4 times a week,
  6. I have the CH ignition system on a Saito 150, it's very poor in performance, Petrol 16 x 8, 7.400rpm now 8.200 with a bigger $15 carb, I love fiddling with engines. Methanol one same prop 8.900 rpm,,,
  7. I used 55% Nitro in my OPS spp rear fan .40 with a modified Micro mold fan to get my LMC Mirage off of the ground, (1984) it took one OPS gold plug the most expensive cold plug that the sold to tune in the engine, and a new one for a 5-minute flight.

  10. It's an old 22mm boat propshaft not in the boat, luckily,,,😃I will turn one down tomorrow on my lathe.
  11. I was just looking at my cheap soldering iron, the tip is badly burnt out, having no copper pipe to make a new tip, would a brass one do the job?.

  13. Great stuff there, out of electronics since 1986, on the L 80 are gnd, and Vcc the battery connections ? would it work on a 7803 on 3 volts ?.

  15. Obviously you had more luck than me with MT plugs, I bought around 50 2 stroke plugs from them when I had my model shop, and they didn't last as long as Rossi plugs.

  18. I never run a glow plug with its current on over 1/3 throttle.
