Warbirds Replicas Hawker Tempest V -Mass Build 2024(part two) .

I would think the problem of selling files would be , one unscrupulous person could copy it and pass it on at a reduced cost. Not that there is going to be a massive demand for these parts compared with the big manufacturers -

Hi Chris, it is 86mm with the 5000 and 95mm with the 4000. It does fly better with the 5000, and with the sensitive elevator on normal set up I would add some weight to the 4000 batteries especially if the wind was above 8 to 10mph -
Standard servos have been OK for me even on petrol engined models up to 23cc. I fly mainly Warbirds so no wild aerobatics, even on my Acrowot which does get thrown around the sky, I use Standard analogue Futaba servos. Unfortunately these are no longer available.

Just adding to the c of g topic, yesterday I flew my Tempest 2 which is basically Richard's kit with a modification forward of the wing. I fly it on 3s 5000's and having 2, 3s 4000 batteries I thought I would try it to see how it would fly. The 4000s are 2oz lighter, without making up the difference I flew it knowing the c of g would be rearward. It made very little difference to the flight other than the elevator was more sensitive. The battery's are the same length and go right to the front, they are longer than the 4s which most people are using. Due to the length the weight would be spread further back but even so the battery is still in front of the c of g. The wind was quite light which helped, it did want to float on and I had to give it down elevator to touch down on the strip -

Hi Clive, It is a private message, you access it by tapping on the three white bars at the top of the page then an envelope will appear, tap it to open the message. There will be a green disc over the white bars indicating a message, a bell will also appear, that is a notification. -

Hi Clive, The nose cone, which is commonly known as a spinner is available in most model shops, a plastic one like this is about £2-50 for a 3" spinner, which I think would be near the size you need. You can measure the diameter of the cowl to determine the size required -
If you look on the SLEC website you will find a good selection of accessories there. Motion RC is an American firm that do a wide range of parts, Mr Trump may have made it cheaper to get stuff from England with his Tariffs

Hi Roger, the local model group would be the best people to advise you about fittings and as you say they are all electric, advice on that too. Although if they are anything like the USA it will be all big models. Plenty of places in England for accessories but the mail costs to Canada may put you off. GG has replied while I was typing so you now know that we don't use the term over here. There are a few ready to fly foam trainer type models on the market, some have stabilisers which can get you flying. Best not to try it alone though, join a club, they will advise you on the rules and regulations and insurance, Good luck with the Spitfire and your venture into model flying

Covering for Balsa wood frames

I would think matching edges of 2" wide tape would be difficult over a curved structure. I have difficulty putting sellotape on a box without wrinkles. The other problem could be distortion on a hot day. Some of the VQ models wrinkle in the sun and they are covered with a self adhesive film. -

Definitely not a Tipsey Junior, looks like a 70s model with the band on wings, fin and rudder look Super 60 style -
Cold wind today, the 12x 8 prop worked well on the Tempest, the spinner was way out of balance so I flew without it again difficult to judge the difference of the lower pitch prop as the conditions of the wind was so different. Problem was getting it down with the gusts, on the 3rd flight the wind dropped on finals and the landing was a bit heavy, broke the prop and the engine mount come loose, now fixed and ready to go. Carried on flying with my Warbirds Yak9
