David Ashby
Thought it would be a good idea to start a new thread relating to the balsa ARTF Acro Wot that's due to go on sale early July. We've been test flying the review model over the last few weeks and have put together a little video......... Eck
Did I hear you say that it's an ASP 70 up front in the review model? Have an SC 80 put aside for mine!
David Ashby
ASP .70 yes .80? That'll shift it Edited By David Ashby on 15/06/2012 13:36:
DG3
I have an older OS 70FS put aside for mine. Hope its not too heavy. Nice video.
Steve Hargreaves - Moderator
Ah...the sound....the smoke.....the blue skies......don't you just love it...... Great video David.......looked very nice to fly.....everything you would expect an Acrowot to be really.... Definitely on my "Want it" list......I even have an ASP70 for it if I can prise it away from my Yak.....
John Allen
I was planning on putting an Irvine .53 in mine. Is it really sacrilege to put a 2 stroke in an Acrowot, as some as suggesting?
Alan Cantwell
the tragedy comes when fitting one to a wot 4, the acro seems to lend itself more readily to a four banger, has this thing got a forecast price yet?
Gavin Mack
i've one of these on order, I rang Ripmax Monday and they said possibly in next week. I haven't decided yet wether to go IC with a Saito 82,or asp 80 or Electric (which I will fly more)
Eck
Our LMS (where I have mine ordered) has them on the website at £122 http://www.aerobuddies.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=2_7&products_id=323 Edited By Eck on 15/06/2012 14:58:

Are you saying its a tragedy to fit a 2 stroke to a wot4? (The Irvine .53 is in mine at the mo, and I was planning to put the Irvine .46 in the wot4, and move the .53 to the AcroWot). Wot4 is great crack with the .
Peter Wood
It relly looks great , but can I be a realist and wonder if the eflite power 60 would be installerable and if it has provision for easy installation of electric Peter

IanR
Good question, Peter. Or even an eflite power 46? Ian

fly boy3
Hi John, over the years I have seen all sorts of power plants for the same model in our club, from a 40 2stroke to 80 or 90 Laser, but the best combination to show off all the Acrowots capabilities was an Irvine 53. 2 stroke. This comment came from one of the best and experienced fliers in the club. But hey we are not all the same. Cheers ps just seen Alan's comment re his motor selection. John Allen
Irvine .53 it is then, now if only my LMS had the damn thing.
Jon Laughton
Loved the video - looks a great bargain. Almost makes me regret selling my built airframe a few weeks ago but then I have four new models to maiden so perhpas not. Maybe in the future I'll revisit the Acrowot for nostalgia's sake but then if there is going to be a continuation of the trend so far and there will be an ARTF Extrawot i may have to indulge... I'm sure that the Foamie version will be popular but for me this looks even better.

Tomtom39
I picked up my Acro Wot Mk2 ARTF this morning. I have built several of the ARTB's Acro Wots from Chris Foss over the years. This is a little gem - well done Ripmax (This is a much better build than the ARTF Wot 4) Having had great success in electrifying the Wot 4 ARTF (538 flights recorded since new - average duration of approx 8 mins - two dings which were easily repaired - its looking a little rough around the edges!!!) I have decided to use similar setup for the Acro wot . Is there anyone else attempting to do the same?
