kevin b
How about some of these for the front of the canopy ? I could do them at 1/6 scale.
kevin b
Or if you don't want them "cartoon" scale.
Eamonn Fahey
You won't need either of those Kevin - the prop. will have done them in before they hit the screen. Made me laugh though.
john stones 1 - Moderator
I have just been up close and personal with the one at Donny, those pinked rib tapes are bang on Danny Got some photo's of rivets for Colin gonna need a big bottle of them though, there's thousands. I think if you took the rivets away the whole thing would fall apart John

No apology required. I did not fully read your post. Kev
Danny Fenton
10,000 rivets flying in close formation.... John don't show Colin he will have another "anxiety attack". Don't suppose you measured the zips did you mate? Like the bugs Kev
john stones 1 - Moderator
Will be going again, anything you need tell me for next week, its behind ropes but they will let me get close I think. Zips ? I don't know if your taking the mickey so I best read all posts before answering that Took measurements of Apache i'll post them in a bit. David P Williams
Don't have access to the full size at the moment, but you could guesstimate from these pics - the scale is 1" squares. Note that as I mentioned in a previous post, those pulls should be wirelocked together!!
Danny Fenton
Hi John brilliant thanks for that, it looks pretty forlorn that Apache doesn't it The zips are for real they are used under the wings as inspection points, very prominent indeed Cheers Danny
john stones 1 - Moderator
Just seen them , I can measure those up no problem. Yes it looks a bit sad and not many rivets either John
john stones 1 - Moderator
Just a few photo's only taken on a small Nikon. Will try and borrow a better camera for next time. Let me know if you want anything specific. Plenty of rivets and you can just see the rib tapes. The transfer from metal to fabric on wing will be a challenge John Edited By john stones 1 on 10/06/2014 18:22:
Colin Leighfield
I was a gibbering wreck already. You'll be telling me that the pilot must be wearing scale Y-Fronts next.
kevin b
That depends on which era of aircraft you are modelling Colin. I'm looking at a refurbished one (recent rebuild) so it will be boxers in my case.

john stones 1 - Moderator
More I look at it the more I like it, mine wont get anywhere near most of you fella's, but I fancy some rib tapes, they don't look too difficult. Got to have some rivets and lights. The hinges bother me... how do you fit those and get them to line up, the u/c troubles me as well and the fairings on wing and tailplane, it will be first time I've had flaps on a model also. All new stuff can't wait John
Colin Leighfield
Sanity is a relative assessment, I feel sane but my record says otherwise! My wife tells me I'm borderline autistic. She can't be right though, there's nothing borederline about my incompetence with a paint-brush, so I'll clearly never make it as an autist.
