john stones 1 - Moderator
Made a start with mine a 30 inch ME 109, flat sheet wing very simple build. Here's my plan. John
john stones 1 - Moderator
Cut the wings out of 1/4 medium balsa and shaped the profile, then the fuz and t/plane from 1/8 balsa, formers are a mix of the two. It's tiny John
Nev
30" span, flat sheet wing, it'll be fast. Hope you're eyesight's better than mine.

john stones 1 - Moderator
Fuz sides marked up for the formers and wing seat sanded in. John
john stones 1 - Moderator
Next little bit, slot the fin and t/plane...delicate little bit then slide together John
john stones 1 - Moderator
Done a bit more, it's that simple you don't need build instructions from me Slotted the wing for the 1/8 ply dihedral brace John
john stones 1 - Moderator
Glued the formers in fuzz (no bulkhead yet till I get motor) and trimmed and sanded fin/tail to fit..this just sits on the bottom sheeting, so getting incidence correct should be simple I can get a 2200 mah lipo in no problem, but can I see it when airborne John
Chris Barlow
Keep it close & low John! That one's flying along just like the Atom! You'll be ready by the end of Feb at this rate!
john stones 1 - Moderator
Should be done before then Chris, I have the engine for my cub now and just need to finish painting it, would be a nice one for Greenacres John
john stones 1 - Moderator
Delicate (for me) little bit here, made up two aileron torque rods out of 2mm wire sleeved in nylon snake, cut the slots out and aileron, add some Vaseline to wire so it don't glue up, and face the fitting with 1/32 ply. And a look at how wing will look when joined. John
john stones 1 - Moderator
Little bit more done...and I mean little made a wire joiner up for elevator, fitted the elevator pushrod sleeve and sheeted the top of rear fuz./ John

john stones 1 - Moderator
Glued some block on top of fuz so we can get a nice shape...looks a bit much but most of it will get planed off. John
john stones 1 - Moderator
Here it is after a bit of shaping, done with Evostik pva and you can see it sands up fine, just make sure to wipe all the excess off. John

john stones 1 - Moderator
It's a daft little thing Nev, but it looks quite realistic, I like Tonys models they always fly well John
