Andy Clarke
Hi, Just hoping someone could tell me yes or no to this- can I use a futaba 2.4 g tranny to buddy to another futaba but 35meg. Thanks
AJ
Hi Andy, In principle there shouldn't be any reason why this shouldn't work as the radio should be a seperate stage from the channel source, but would be worth checking with someone who has these and can try it as Futaba do not always implement things in the most logical or obvious way. ChrisB
I've used a JR 642 35mhz set as buddy and a Spektrum DX8 as master with no problems. Chris

Phil Green
Posted by john stones 1 on 01/07/2015 00:19:31: Yes Andy we did so for years at our club. 2.4 set has to be master. it works either way John, both put out an identical ppm frame but the answer is "yes"
kc
According to the Futaba manual it has to be two Futaba Tx with the 'rectangular' type plug.
john stones 1 - Moderator
I am not the sharpest knife in the draw with lektrickery Phil are you saying even with a 2.4 rx either set can be the master? John
Engine Doctor
As fa as I am aware it can work either way . 2.4 Rx then 2.4 Tx is master and vice versa with 35 Meg Tx master for 35 Meg Rx
Phil Green
If the rx is a 2.4 then yes the master has to be 2.4 What I meant was, if the rx is 35 that works too with the same physical connection but with the 35 tx as master. In other words it works either way, but of course the rx has to match the master tx
john stones 1 - Moderator
Right lads, I've been doing it right then John
Phil 9
**LINK** I asked a similar question. a link in this thread points to a trainer lead you can use if you have one square trainer port on one of the round type
kc
The Futaba 6EX2.4 manual says both must be 'square' type. It says never connect to the round DIN type as it will damage your 2.4 Tx
