DaveyP
Hi all, I'm sure I can't be the only one to remember small ( very ) dome shaped washers in balsa kits. These were used to act as a stop on a wire axle, one each side of the wheel. The "cup" side of the washer being filled with solder. Are these still available ? if so where from, I've done a quick tinterbong search without success. Tia.
Peter Miller
Cup washers were mainly intended as thrust bearings for the rubber powered props. Not sure if you can still get them SAMS do not seem to have them
Keith Evans 3
Search for "small cup washers" you should find some on E.Bay .
Don Fry
I seem to remember them, were they not 'sprung' onto the axle. I tried soldering, but never had any success, and abandoned the idea to systems that reliably hold the wheel on.

Yep, they would look great on the outside of the wheel, but it says they are out of stock....... I'll keep watching them, thanks.
Martin Whybrow
Perhaps Bellville washers would do the trick
Peter Miller
I have never lost a wheel when soldered on. I have seen more wheels lost (and lost one or two myself with collects and other methods.. I refuse under any circumstances to use any other method except bind with wire and solder
