cymaz
i didn't think it was that bad. So much better than the ginger mouth on a stick. Chris Harris et al work Ok together. Time will tell and the relationships have got to develop. Great challenge to the space station. What a Ferrari
Tim Hooper
We enjoyed it too. Netty was laughing cheerfully most of the time, and she's a fairly tough audience. The 'chemistry' was good-natured and reasonably competitive. If I remember, then I'll watch next week's episode. Tim
ChrisB
Enjoyed the challenge and the Ferrari. Very nice car but only any good if you book track days. Still if you can afford £2m then you can buy your own track and play with it every day. Far better now Evans has gone. CB

Phil Green
For me they're trying far too hard to be exactly like the boys. When revealing the track times, Matt sounded like he was working to an old Clarkson script. To me he seems reluctant, like he doesnt really want to be there! Like Leonard Nimoy & Mr Spock, Matt will always be Joey
Bob Cotsford
Posted by ChrisB on 05/03/2017 21:57:55: ........ Far better now Evans has gone. CB +1. Entertaining and inoffensive, about the best you can expect from the BBC on a Sunday night. Of course it's following the terrible trio's format, it's what sold all around the world. If anything the current three do a better job than Clarkson & co in later years, certainly better than they've managed with Amazon's 'The Grand Tour'! Andy Meade
Completely disagree there Bob. LeBlanc can't think on his own without a script, Harris has no charisma, and the new chap is so far out of his depth it's funny. I think Fifth Gear is more entertaining in all honesty. The Grand Tour is already, and always will be, head and shoulders above the BBC's paltry offering.
Martyn Johnston
I thought that Clarkson was such a vile, obnoxious arse that I could never stand to watch it. So I never got into the habit that other people seem to have. Is it worth me watching now that he's not in it any more ?

As it is TG seems to be the best thing scheduled on Sunday evenings. It also has the benefit of annoying my 91 year old father who can't understand that a car can be more than a means of getting from A to B. Peter Christy
Posted by Martyn Johnston on 06/03/2017 10:04:16: I thought that Clarkson was such a vile, obnoxious arse that I could never stand to watch it. Funny, that's how I felt about Evans! I think the new show is OK - it will probably take time to mature and for the presenters to feel at ease with each other, but it will come. It was entertaining enough to keep me watching, and didn't raise my blood pressure too much! Clarkson's new show started off okay-ish, but then each episode seemed like a repeat of the previous. Got bored with it very quickly. -- Pete
Josip Vrandecic -Mes
Posted by Tom Sharp 2 on 06/03/2017 00:14:20: Worth watching, but nothing new feature wise. It's like, "The King is Dead Long Live the King". Yes that's right ..... no return to the past .... Clarkson & Company are unique Jos
Bernard Koussoulos
It was,nt all that bad the only one i don,t like is the american guy ,loved the 2million f car but for that money i want to drive it not parke it in the drive and look at it i rather liked the idea of them driving three old cars into the ground and getting their butts kicked in a race with some old ladas i know ladas can move becouse i had one some years ago
iqon
Just watched on iplayer, was loads better without ginger nut, Clarkson & co would still have done a far better job though
Colin Leighfield
I gave up on TG years ago, quite honestly I thought it got childish, we all like schoolboy pranks but eventually they got boring. Individually I like May and Hammond, but the show was just silly. I didn't watch the Chris Evans attempt, but did watch the new version without him last night. I thought it was a decent show and actually reasonably interesting. It was worth watching for the rocket launch alone. Spectacular. I will watch it again and see how it goes. As a programme though, I preferred it in the Raymond Baxter and William Woollard style, although to be honest I don't think that most of today's audience have enough technical understanding to really know how a car works and they wouldn't understand it anyway. (Am I allowed to say that or is it not PC)?
cymaz
I think nerves got the better of Matt...he would stop clapping his hands at the start of his lines . I'm still going to watch it far better than the series with evans ( me me me ...shut up everyone...me me me me )
Dave Bran
Matt did seem more confident last series trying to get the Ginger Whinger out of trouble, but hopefully he'll grow into the main role. IMO no way will the BBC countenance a major shift in style though. I had access to but gave up on the Grand Tour, boring and TOO samey, I began to feel I was watching the same one again! Love the reference to seeing him still in Friends, but he's another actor who came the soft porn route (so I'm told of course.......!!!) so maybe people remember other things he did than comedy.
