CARPERFECT
Anyone know if there any other brands of telemetry sensors that work with futaba ? As original ones are too expensive
Andy Palmer
SM Modellbau do them, thoroughly recommend. **LINK**
David Ovenden
Agreed. SM Modellbau are very good, and not just for Futaba. I'm using their UnisensE with JR DMSS. But you can set the unit up for many different brands/protocols. It does rpm (brushless electric) altitude, variometer, batt voltage, current and more from one unit. Only downside is instructions are in German, though translatiions into English can be found online. By the way, no need to buy an expensive branded lead to programme Unisens from your PC. I found a really cheap item from HK worked fine. Frank Skilbeck
Yep I use SM Modelbau sensors on my MPX M Link systems and they are very good, also configured one for my friends Futaba14sg, they work well. Another option is the Aerobtec Altis GPS sensor (with vario).
Martin Harris - Moderator
I don't know about Futaba but there's a gentleman in Finland who has designed a range of DIY sensors based on Arduino Mini processor boards for Jeti telemetry - easy to build and program and at a fiver or so for an altimeter, vario, temperature sensor, rev counter etc. and a tenner for GPS are extremely affordable if you can wield a soldering iron. There may be similar enthusiasts around designing for Futaba - worth trawling a few newsgroups and googling?
Dickw
Another vote for SM devices. I use them with my Jeti and a couple of friends use them with their Futabas. English translations of instructions here. Dick
