Colin Carpenter
Could be cogging .Seen this several times recently and was dodgy connectors on motor or ESC ! Colin
Alan Thorpe
I had the same problem a while ago and everthing looked ok at motor and esc....but motor kept pulsing too. So I carefully stripped back a small patch of insulation with exacto blade on each of 3 motor wires so I could do continuity test as far as the esc connector. Turned out one wire had open circuit just at connector but the heat shrink and insulation held it together so well, that it looked and felt perfect. Resoldered it and everything was perfect. Let us know how you get on.
Geoff S
It certainly sounds that one phase is open circuit either because of a broken connection as mentioned or a faulty esc (probably one of the output MOSFETs). Geoff
Outrunner
As above, probably a bad connection to one of the motor wires. Had it happen a couple of times, the first time it was intermittent, the heat shrink was the only thing holding the connector on the end on the wire. Phil. Brian Hammond
It could be a worn out lipo.
Steve Hargreaves - Moderator
As the other chaps have mentioned it's probably a dodgy connection. Poor soldering of the motor connections would be my guess....
Cliff 1959
Well it turned out to be the esc, tried another one and all is well. The connections by the way were all good so who knows?
