Spektrum Tx and Rx compatability, or binding trouble

Hi Chris,

Your AR6110 is a DSM2 receiver. The manual for the Spektrum DX6e claims that transmitter is both DSMX and DSM2 compatible so, according to Spektrum's literature, you should be able to bind the AR6110 with the DX6e.

Have a re-read of the binding procedure to make sure you are following it precisely - good luck.

DSM2 transmitters have not been allowed to be imported into UK or any EC country for about 3 years now. So any modern Spektrum TRANSMITTERS will be DSMX only.  Modern Spektrum RECEIVERS will be both DSM2 and DSMX but older ones may not.

I have tried both methods:

1. power Tx on with bind button pressed

2. use bind function in menu.

Same results.

The AR6110 is DSM2 modulation only.

The European version of the DX6e is DSMX modulation only

The two are incompatible.

The link from Sparks leads to the US website, the DX6e sold in the USA is both DSM2 and DSMX compatible. DSM2 protocaol is no longer legal in the EU and UK so no current Spetrum transmitters use it.

You will have to either replace the receiver with a newer Spektrum, Orange or Lemon receiver or buy an older, second hand Spektrum transmitter like the DX6i. The receiver option will be cheaper.

Transmitters imported before the crucial date are legal to use.

Note that the DX6i came in 3 types - DSM2 only, DSM2 and DSMX, and later DSMX only. So you would need to know which model if you did decide to go that route. ( DSMX have an X on the case and might or might not be DSM2 as well depending on when imported )

AR 410 is excellent with internal aerial instead of outside but it it's only 4 channel. Good for some models but not as versatile. If you will need separate aileron servos, retracts, flaps etc then buy a 6 channel.
