Martin Arnold 1
Friend of mine has just acquired this low winger, does anybody recognise the model and know what it is, the wing span is 54 inches. It's not an M.R. Gangster, Galaxy Magician or a Four star 40, any ideas ? Thanks

Nigel R
Looks a bit like Zack but I would guess, it's a Builder's Own. Ginger is funnier Maybe you should call it Ginger? Edited By Nigel R on 22/10/2020 16:49:
Ronaldo
Reminds me of a 'Nobler' control line model .... maybe an RC conversion ?
kc
It looks a bit like the Akro 54 by Mike Smart Designs,

Matt Carlton
It looks very much like someone built a magician from patterns and with a built up wing. It's nicely done anyway. I would lay odds on it being a home brew or a bitsa.

Graham Davies 3
The wing and fin shape looks like one of Keith Humber's designs to me. If it is, it will fly really well...

john stones 1 - Moderator
Sort of comment you'd see in one of the Red Tops Magician for me, lightened the tail.
kc
It cannot be a Magician as that has 50 inch span according to all the adverts. At 54 inch span the mystery plane is a little unusual, so thats the clue to origin. The design looks just right and nicely proportioned and surely not a stretched Magician. The tail end does look a bit like a Keith Humber design but the nearest one I can find is the Wight Crusader but that's mid wing and only 52 inch. ( Wight Crusader is a fantastic design and one of my favourite models, but sadly disappeared from the Sarik Plan Service. It seems to have only been a pullout plan from Radio Modeller November 1988 ) The Wight Wizard & Wight Witch are similar styling but also mid wing and only 40 inch. As the mystery plane flys well and looks really nice, it would seem worth drawing out a basic plan from the model in case it's ever necessary to make another one.
