John Wagg
I have done a couple of painted parts with the polyurethane which now needs to dry and harden properly. Then I will see how the Rustins fairs over that. Edited April 30, 2021 by John Wagg
Andy Stephenson
John, Why not just use acrylic type car paint or cellulose paint for the colour coat then Rustins can be put directly on top with no appreciable delay and no chance of wrinkling.

Andy, unfortunately the model is already painted with the enamel. I didn't realise it would be a problem but I will in future. I will just have to find some way of fuel proofing it. The previous model is in acrylic so I can probably use the Rustins on that after I have neutralised the parts that need redoing. Thanks. Andy Stephenson
John, Given a few months to harden, enamel paint is reasonably fuel resistant but there's nothing like a 2 part fuel proofer.
John Wagg
I mentioned above how the Rustins softened the enamel paint on my latest model. I did a test on a part that didn't matter so no harm done. Since then I bought some Guild Materials satin fuelproofer as mentioned above by Tony H. It's gone on fine and importantly not affected the red enamel paint on the model. How fuel proof the Guild Materials is going to be only time will tell.
Graeme Poke
John, Any update on the Guild Materials fuel proof please? Thanks Graeme

Thanks Graeme Hi Graeme, sorry no update as I have not been able to fly the model yet. So it hasn't had any notable quantity of fuel on it to see how it performs. I will be using 5% fuel with this plane. I expect it will be a good few weeks before I get any results but I will let the group know the outcome.
