David Holland 2
Can anyone help, please, with the best adhesive for litho to balsa? Does cyano wokk or epoxy? Thanks, David

Martian
I used contact adhesive for large areas tricky to line up but very effective
Engine Doctor
I have always used contact adhesives like UHU . You have to apply the adhesive evenly though as any dragged adhesive , through over spreading , can show through when the litho is rubbed down. Never tried epoxy. Alan Gorham_
Can't remember where but I read a recommendation to use a strong spray on contact adhesive to ensure a thin even layer of glue. I wanted to put on large litho panels over light balsa sheeting. I used this and I think I would use it again certainly in preference to epoxy which I would find messy and laborious to apply as well as heavy and expensive. la-1000881747267:kwd-1000881747267:cmp-757438067:adg-44804851896:crv-207912323492id-87-1124:dev-m&gclid=CjwKCAiA-_L9BRBQEiwA-bm5fnIV60wyNP_vSjkt5tCqONSm4SP6ShiFRHI64rhflxty0N2dx3LsyRoCKvwQAvD_BwE">Link Edited By Alan Gorham_ on 24/11/2020 20:57:

I have use impact contact adhesive and had similar results. Nasty stuff but it clings like..err, chocolate to a blanket.
Andy J
Don't use UHU POR as I did on one of my models as the litho is now lifting due to engine oil/fuel ingress.
Engine Doctor
Ah ! yes forgot to add. I seal edges when happy with either some cyano or Clearcote as most fuels will attack contact adhesives . I dont use the UHU POR either as its not as strong as the ordinary UHU, Edited By Engine Doctor on 25/11/2020 12:56:
David Holland 2
Cheers, Guys, went with contact adhesive and it worked a treat. It would have been difficult without an instant grab adhesive as the component is a shape that would be almost impossible to clamp in place while curing took place. I'm all electric so fuel ingress won't be an issue but I think a drop of cyano wicked round the edges would be a plan. Thanks, David
Doctor Chinnery
A bit late to the party - but what about Methyl Methacrylate ?
