Microaces Scrappee

Recommended Posts

I treated myself to the 18" Scrappee kit from Microaces.

The RC gear was donated by the earlier SE5a from a couple of years ago.

If you're not familiar with the concept, the Microaces range are built from pre-printed 1mm depron that comes as a flat pack.

Here's the fuselage under construction. The skin is being wrapped around the central crutch. UHU Por does the sticking.

The wing skins are folded around a depron/polypropylene spar, to give a shallow triangular wing section.

Here's the RC in the nose. Urge comes from a 1S 150 mAh cell.

In short, it's a lovely little project (3 days to assembly in fits and starts), and flies equally well.

My clubmate Stu took some video;

Guys ... you really need to be very careful with these kits .. Jon clearly coats the models during printing with a lawyer which makes them highly sensitive to the touch .. some would even say ADDICTIVE..

Currently my fleet is 5 and having built 3 others for a friend it’s out of control !!!!

you have been warned .. lol
