Mark Turner 12
What technique do you use for the tissue covering? Just seen Pat Trittle has done the same RC conversion on rc groups.
Dwain Dibley.
I precover the panels with Laminating film and then cover with tissue by just using a brush to wet the tissue while its on the panel, then once its on, use a tissue to smooth it out and remove excess easy dope, dope is thinned 70/30 water to dope. Bear in mind this is my first real attempt at tissue over Lam. I will check out that build, thanks. ? D.D.

Dwain Dibley.
I have been playing around with the installation of the radio, trying to get it all in, and on or around, the C of G. With the control rods added, and the tail wheel, and the main wheels, it would seem to be balancing on the mark. I also spent some time re-acquainting myself with my Radio-Link AT102 Tx The tiny little Rx worked OK. Two more arrived from Banggood today. Tenner each. Every thing is attached now and functioning as it should, The wing will be glued on, so it will be a trauma to get to the radio if it should fail, but Hey Ho if it goes in, it will be a mess anyway. D.D. Couple of shots of the old school Control rods. The little RX on its pad, to be fixed later. Dwain Dibley.
Sealing the Radio gear in goes against the grain for me, I don't know about you Guys, so I decided to make the wing a band on affair. The trouble was the Struts are designed to be glued on permanently, so I had to add some blocks to the interior of the fuselage, to take a couple of screws The wings and struts are one piece, the bottom of the struts take the screws. Screw holes filled with CA to fix the thread, then the screws put back in Added some timber to take the band dowels I took on the laborious task of adding the cowl bulges, tedious but strangely satisfying. I also added tissue to the inside of the undercarriage fairings, to hide the clumsy fixings. Just a case of putting the radio back in, and she is ready to go. D.D. The strut fixings.

Dwain Dibley.
Thanks John, the chunks of balsa holding on the wire undercarriage are ugly but better than just glue as per the plan, thankfully no one can/will see them. D.D.
Ron Gray
You’re making a splendid job of that D.D. And I especially like the cowl blisters, well worth the effort.
Dwain Dibley.
Thanks Ron. I realised today that I have, of course, got to add the front screen. LOL ? So I have just added the bearers now. these should be connected to the wing but they cannot be, so are a bit shallow. I had everything connected , battery in, cowl and prop on. She balanced right on the button, no lead in the rear required, a minor miracle really, I will weigh her in, she will be a bit lardy compared to the free flight rubber version of course. D.D. The ingenious (?) cowl fixing. Just requires a gentle twist anti-clockwise. Screen bearers.
