Cuban8
Just had an email from one of my two clubs to say that after careful consideration the Committee has decided to cancel the face to face AGM for members because of Covid concerns. Tend to agree with their decision, are other clubs taking a similar stance? Suppose it depends on a number of factors like size of expected attendance, venue etc. BTW, I saw that BMFA's AGM was available to view on-line by ordinary members - I did register but no reply as yet. Seemed a good idea, new registrations are closed now.

Geoff S
Ours is down to be held in a local village hall as formerly but I've already sent my apologies as a non-attender. Despite what many seem to think, the pandemic is far from over.
Don Fry
Ours in indoors, forecast for the 27 th, is 4°C, with an east wind. But only with a certificate.
GrumpyGnome
Had ours last night - 10 attended in person, 7 sent email votes (50% of our membership involved!). !0 socially distanced in the pub. Everyone at least double-jabbed; I know that's not a protective force-field but we all felt comfortable.
andyh
had ours via Zoom last night using a Zoom "room" provided by the BMFA, the same as we did last year. it works very well for us - historically we have had very low turnouts for AGMs, but we get decent numbers doing it remotely. Unfortunately there's a very small but vocal minority who are anti-vaccination and seem to think Covid is a 'hoax' (whatever that means) and certainly won't wear a mask, hence my non-attendance. John Lee
We did an email poll to decide whether to have a face to face meeting and only 25% said they would attend (not enough for a quorum), so we held an on-line meeting at which 90% voted. The specialist slope soaring & waterplane clubs I am also a member of both also had virtual meetings.
Richard Acland
We decided not to have an AGM face to face for the second year, It is still out there. and even if you are jabbed up it can still be a nasty experience if you catch it. GrumpyGnome
I should point out that here in rural east Yorks, or infection rates are very low, which will have an influence..... luckily, as far as I know, none of our members has, so far, contracted Covid throughout the pandemic. And, we had the entire pub lounge to ourselves. It was quite surprising that 10 turned up tbh. Added to the email votes, 50% of members participated in some form.
