MikeQ
Hi No great experience of foam models being a died in the wool balsa whittler. I have this Arrows Bearcat which flies well. The paint finish is nice but these foam models seem to have a more delicate surface than a 30yr old Tissue and Dope covered KeilKraft glider! Any tips on how to get the transfers off without pulling off the paint work and how to generally prepare/change the paint scheme overall. Was thinking of the French markings from thieir time in IndoChina. Was thinking maybe Tamiya Acrylics and a matt varnish sprayed on? Grateful if anyone can ket me know if its possible or a waste of time with these tyoes of model. Any help appreciated. cheers mike
Colin Carpenter
I have one and it flys well. Paint comes off when you look at it. I’ve used Tamiya acrylic and found that came off as well. I think the Multiplex cans are a better chance , especially if primer is used. Expensive!!! Colin
MikeQ
Hi Colin thanks. I wasn’t looking to break the bank or create a masterpiece. Sounds like could be more hassle than its worth. lol, ive got enough things on the go anyway. cheers mike
Nigel Heather
Decals - assuming they are stickers rather than water-slide, gently warming with a hairdryer as you peel may work.
Don Fry
Mike you are right. Hassle. If it offends, do it. Otherwise, looks OK on a low fly past. It’s a foamie. That one looks tidy. I would kill for the workshop.

Trevor Crook
That's a tidy looking model, I'd be inclined just to apply some weathering.
