Fly Boy 3
Hi all, been using Futaba 148 servos for years and years, just wondered if there is an up date alternative with same spec. Cheers
GaryW
This wud be the closest futaba servo that I know of,,, Im still using 148's & 3001's myself in most of my planes https://www.nexusmodels.co.uk/futaba-servo-standard-digital-s-bus-0-19s-4-5kg-p-su300.html
Engine Doctor
Hi OMF. If you want the 148 analouge equivalent then the 3003 is the modern equal. Beware though of any sold on line as loads of fake copies around. Usually recognised by the price ....... like 4 for £15 ish inc postage ! Just looked and they are still selling them 🤬 . Only buy from good source or get some good used 148's from a club mate, they are pretty bullet proof. The Digital servos are good for 3D flying or bigger models and have very strong holding power but as a result use a lot more current and IMHO for general flying are just OTT. Seems these days most thing have to be " Turbo" or "Digital" to be considered any good 🤔. Fly Boy 3
Thanks both, will be looking out for scams too. Cheers
Frank Skilbeck
Hasn't Futaba discontinued the 3003, most reputable sellers now note that these have been superseded by the SU300, so I'd be quite wary of buying any new ones off E Bay etc.
Mike Mc
Last couple of years I have been trying the new Futaba universal series (300, 301, 400). I like the S-U400 Universal Servo better that the others. Well worth the extra price. I have two sets that have been flying for over a year. These are now my go-to servo. .
