Neddy
The wings in my hawk sky are loose and will slide out of the fuselage. I was wondering whether there is a clip or something I could mount to lock them in place. Reading the assembly instructions it says use the steel bolt ? There isn't one? Wookman
Nylon bolt from modelfixings maybe?
Neddy
I have made up a thin plastic strap with a hole each end which I can fix to the fuselage inside the recess at the bottom where the wings slide in. I will drill one hole through each wing and have four plastic washers with spacers which I can press into the wings then bolt through using nylon bolts and wing nuts. The spacers will stop the wing getting crushed as I tighten up the bolt. So all I do is slide the wings in place line them up and bolt them in place. Neddy
All I have to do is shorten the bolts and put conventional nylon nuts on instead of the wing nuts. This should reduce any drag.
Paul De Tourtoulon
Any reason why you can't just run a bit of tape down the wing / fuselage gap, I used to do that on all my gliders, even my old 3.6m Multiplex DG- 600
Neddy
The previous owner has stuck tape all over the plane. I have been gradually removing it the plane has tape glue left on it and it's messy I really don't want to stick more tape on it.
Outrunner
I would have put some little magnets in the wing roots, less of an eyesore and just pull the wings off.

I have a couple of my planes wings and cockpits held on with magnets from old burnt out motors.
Don Fry
Noddy, you are assembling a trainer, tool for a job. Now I appreciate pride of workmanship, but you don’t polish a hammer. Tape is quick. It’s reliable. It does not fail, think how you would feel, it’s your only plane, a magnet pulls out.
